하루 쉬고 히말라야산맥을 향해 걸어간다.
After one day's rest, I am walking toward Himalaya mountains.
1. 고개를 넘는 25km 코스다.
Today's course is more than 25 km, crossing over a pass.
2. 구글지도를 살펴 보니 출발지 높이가 해발303미터이고 고개높이가 594미터. 도착지는 460미터.
According to Google map, the altitude of starting point is 303 m.
The altitude of pass is 594 m, and destination is 460 meters.
3. 출발직전 호텔방의 창문밖에 보니 비둘기가 앉아 있다. 평화의 전령사다.
Right before starting, I saw a pigeon sitting outside of window. Pigeon stands for messenger of peace.

5. 아이를 안은 가족들
A family with a baby.

7. 이 동네는 힌두교가 많이 등장한다.
I see many signs of Hinduism in this village.

9. 물론 시크교 사원도 많다.
Also, I found many Sikh temples.
10. 본격적인 오르막길.
A real uphill.
11. 한참을 오른 후 내려다 보았다.
After I walked up quite a while, I looked down the scenery.
12. 작은 호수도 보인다.
I could see a small lake.

19. 이 길은 차들이 천천히 달리므로 원숭들이들에게 먹이를 주기에 안성맞춤이다.
숲들은 원숭이도 서식하기에 좋다.
Cars move slowly on this uphill road. Therefore, monkeys can eat food safely.
The forest provide the monkeys with safe shelters.

22. 오르막이긴 하지만 이런 경치를 감상하는 재미가 쏠쏠하다.
Since it is uphill, I can enjoy such a beautiful scenery.
23. 시속4km의 관광열차를 타고 가는 재미다.
Walking uphill may be compared to riding a tour-train running with a speed of 4 km per hour.
24. 시크교도가 오토바이에서 내리더니 환호성이다.
Two Sikhs got off motorcycle, and exclaimed with delight.
25. 필자에게 노자돈으로 200루피를 준다. 앞면에는 간디선생.
And, they gave me a 200-rupee-bill. On the front side of the bill, Sir Gandhi is printed.
26. 뒷면에는 Sanchi Stupa.
부처님이 열반하신 후 기원전 300년쯤 인도전체를 정복한 Ashoka왕이 불교를 중흥하면서 조성한 유적군이다.
On the back side of the bill, Sanchi Stupa is printed. Sanchi Stupa are monuments built by King Ashoka who conquered the Indian continent around B.C. 300 and revived Buddhism.

30. 대략 정상쯤에서 본 풍경이다.
This is scenery seen around top of the pass.
31. 자동차나 오토바이로 고개를 넘는 많은 사람들이 필자에게 다가왔다.
Many people who rise the pass by car or motorcycle approached a walking pilgrim.

34. 고개를 넘어 Gagret 동네에 도착하니 이분이 필자에게 짜이를 대접한다. 예전에 사우디아라비아 현대건설현장에서 5년간 근무했었다고 한다.
I walked over the pass and reached a village, Gagret. This man served me a cup of chai.
He said that he had worked at Hyundai construction site in Saudi Arabia for 5 years.
35. 또다른 동네사람들도 환영해준다.
People of another village greeted me.
마지막 엿새 걷는 코스중에 가장 긴 첫 코스를 무난히 넘었다. 나머지 코스는 오르막 길이긴 해도 거리가 대략 20km 미만이다.
I passed the first course of final six-day section without difficulty. The remaining courses are also uphill.
But the daily distance to walk is less than 20 km.
