1. 쉬는 날 둘러본 호수 주변
On rest day, I saw the scenery around the lake.

3. 가게에서 비닐봉지 대신 담아준 신문지 봉지.
이걸 보니 우리도 예전에 이런 재활용을 했던 기억이 난다.
At the mart, I saw a paper bag made of newspaper.
I remembered that we used and recycled the same paper bag in the past.
4. 봉지 끝단에는 접어서 마무리한 다음 풀칠을 한 흔적이 있다. 이렇게 자원순환형으로 활용하는 것이 보기에 좋다.
얼마전 뉴스에 보니 쓰레기로 몸살을 앓고 있는 인도에서 폐플라스틱을 활용한 아스팔트기술을 개발했다는 보도도 접한 적이 있다.

At the end of the paper bag, I could see the pasted part. To recycle paper bag was very good for the environment.
I found an internet news that India developed a new technology to make asphalt from used plastic.

It was a very inspiring news.
5. 다람살라를 향해 오늘 다시 걷는다. 오늘 길은 오르막과 내리막이 다소 반복된다.
Today I walk toward Dharamshala again.
I have to walk a course which repeats uphill and downhill.

I took a picture with kind workers of the hotel.

8. 다리를 건넌다. 비 온 직후여서 물빛이 탁하다.
I crossed a bridge. The water was muddy right after the rainfall.

10. 소들이 이렇게 도로를 점하고 있어도 일부러 쫓아낼 생각을 하지 않는다.
Cows occupied the road. Nobody cared. Nobody tried to chase cows out.

In the thick mist.

I am walking uphill.

15. 낯선 이를 경계하는 동네아이들도 '셀피'라고 외치면 호응을 잘한다.
Children become alert when a stranger approaches. But when I say 'selfie' they respond pretty well.

The environmental slogan of Himachalpradeshi state government was eye-catching. 'Go Green to get Earth Clean'
17. 걷고 있자니 어느틈엔가 안개가 걷히고 멀리 히말라야 산맥이 위용을 드러낸다.
While I was walking, the fog disappeared in a moment.
Then I could see dignified appearance of Himalaya mountains.
18. 감동이다.
I was excited.
19. 한시간쯤 이 웅장한 산맥을 보면서 걸었다. 이런 행운을 누리다니.
While I was walking for one hour, I could see this magnificent mountains. It was a lucky chance.

21. 이 봉우리를 지도로 확인하니 Parvati Parvat 이란 이름을 가진 6633미터의 봉우리다.
I checked the peak of the mountains, browsing Google map.
The name of the peak was Parvati Parvat. The altitude of the peak was 6633 meters.

23. 주택대문의 아름다운 문양이 눈에 띈다.
I saw a beautiful pattern of house gate.

25. 이 분은 Chandigarh에 살고 있는 의사선생님인데 일요일 이 근처의 힌두교행사에 참여했다가. 돌아가는 길에 필자를 보고 차를 세웠다.
This gentleman was a medical doctor living in Chandigarh. On Sunday he took part in nearby Hindu event. On his way back home, he saw me and stopped his car.
26. 처음에는 단순히 순례자에 대한 호기심이었는데, 스토리를 듣더니 감탄을 하면서 자신의 소개를 한다.
He had a simple curiosity about a walking pilgrim.
But after listening to my story, he was struck with wonder. He introduced himself to me.
27. 특히 이 사진에 등장하는 운전석의 인사는 놀라면서 의료인답게 필자의 허벅지와 종아리를 직접 만져보기도 했다.
In specific, the man on the passenger's seat of the car was surprised.
He was also a doctor, and he checked and touched the thigh and calf of my legs.
28. 힌두교의 야외 종교행사에 참여하고 있는 사람들이 걸어가는 필자를 보더니 환호하고 있다. 힌두교는 순례자에 친절하다.
Hindu people who were participating in religious outdoor event saw me and exclaimed.
The Hindu people are very kind to pilgrim.
29. 이 일대는 힌두교 종교관련시설이 모여있다.
Around this area, many Hindu facilities are located.

31. 시야에서 벗어났던 히말라야 산맥이 오후에 다시 눈에 들어온다.
In the afternoon, the Himalaya mountains which had disappeared out of eyesight appeared again.

33. 이 장관을 앉아서 바라본다.
I sat on the road and looked at this magnificent scenery.
34. 간이찻집에서 본 재활용 쟁반. 광고전단지를 활용해서 종이접시로 만들었다.
I saw a recycled tray at quick-tea house. The tray was made of ad leaflet.
35. 청년들이 차를 몰고가다가 필자로부터 팜플렛을 받아서 읽고는 차를 세웠다.
These youths were riding a car and received a pamphlet from me. They read it, and stopped car.

37. 이 장면을 유심히 보던 마을 아이들도 손을 흔든다.
The children of the village were looking at this scene with curiosity and waved hands to me.
38. 숙소가 있는 동네에 오니 히말하야산맥이 훤하게 보인다.
Finally I arrived at the village where my shelter is located. I could see the Himalaya mountains clearly.
