이번 여름 순례의 마지막 코스이다.
This is the last course of pilgrimage in this summer.
1. 두 분이 나란히 계신 모습을 그저께 인터넷에서 찾았다.
자주 함께 하신다.
1. I searched Internet, and found this photo.
The Pope and the Partriarch are friends, and they meet frequently.
2. 원래는 이스탄불에서 버스와 기차를 이용해서 육로로 이동할 생각이었으나,
8일의 알현에 집중하느라 미처 티켓을 예약하지 못하고 있던 차에 피크시즌에 걸렸다. 터미널에 가 보았지만 매진이라 뾰족한 수가 없다. 연기는 안되므로 대안을 찾아야 하는데,
1안) 오리엔트특급으로 소피아까지 가서 다시 아테네로 내려오는 방안
2안) 비행기를 타는 방안
3안) 지중해 루트를 찾는 방안
세가지 가능성을 동시에 검토 했다. 그리하여 3안으로 낙찰. 뜻하지 아니한 즐거운 지중해(에게헤) 여행이다.
2. According to original plan, I was supposed to travel from Istanbul to Athens on land by bus and train. But I concentrated on the reception with the Patriarch, and missed the ticketing in advance. It was peak season, and I could not buy ticket at bus terminal. I thought of three alternatives.
plan1: Take orient express train and go to Sophia and come down to Athens.
plan2: Get on airplane.
plan3: Find Mediterranean route.
I investigated three alternatives. My final decision was plan3.
I happened to travel Mediterranean course unexpectedly.
3. 무심거사는 하루 더있다가 바로 귀국하고 유선생모녀는 다음날 아테네로 비행기로 이동한다.

3. Prof. Lee stayed at Istanbul one more day, and left by airplane.
Ms. You and her daugher went to Athens by plane the next day.

4. 이제 홀로 이동한다. 미소로 대해주는 터키시민과 함께.
4. Now I am moving by myself. A smiling Turkish citizen welcomed me.
5. 먼저 Bandirma까지 배를 타고 2시간가량 이동.
5. First, I got on boat. It took me two hours to go to Bandirma.
6. 이스탄불을 떠나는 차창밖.
6. I am leaving Istanbul.
7. 옆자리 승객과 친해졌다.
7. I became friend with the passenger sitting next to me.

9. When I arrived at the port, someone asked me to take a selfie.
10. 인구 14만의 Bandirma 도시를 걷는다.
10. I am walking in Bandirma which has a population of 140,000 people.
11. 좋은 분위기다.
11. The atmosphere of the city was very good.
12. 터미널로 가는 버스정류장 부근.
12. Near the bus station where I can ride a bus going to terminal. .
13. 반디르마 터미널에 도착하여 Izmir로 가는 버스를 기다리는 동안 다가온 아이가 필자에게 과자를 준다. 기특하다. 그 가족들도 함께 셀피.
13. I arrived at Bandirma terminal. I was waiting for the bus going to Izmir.
Then, a boy came to me and gave me cookie. He was praiseworthy.
I took a selfie with his family.
14. 이 건조한 여름에 자라는 작물이 궁금하다.
14. I was wondering which kind of crop is growing in dry summer.

16. 이 소녀는 아마도 K-POP의 열성팬일지도 모르겠다. 휴식시간에 필자가 코리언임을 알고는 뒷자리에서 일부러 찾아왔다.
16. This girl may be an ehthusiastic pan of K-Pop. She found out that I was a Korean.
She came to me from the rear seat.
17. 지중해로 가는 길목도시 Izmir에 도착한것은 밤11시반. 터미널 인근의 호텔에 들었다.
17. At 11:30 p.m. I arrived at Izmir which is located at entrance to Mediterranean.
I stayed at a hotel near the terminal.
18. Izmir(이즈미르)는 인구4백만의 대도시다.
18. Izmir is a large city with a population of 4 million.
19. 터미널에서 곧장 새벽6시 버스를 타고 Çesme(셰스메)로 향한다.
거기서 그리스로 해상국경을 넘어 그리스섬인 Xios(히오스)로 1시간가량 가서 페리를 7시간 타고 아테네의 Piraeus항구로 가는 것이다.
19. I got on a bus at 6 o'clock in the morning, and headed toward Çesme.
At Çesme, I will cross the marine border and go to Xios which is a Greek island for one hour.
Then I will get on a ferry and go to Piraeus port for 7 hours.

21. 전기 만드는 프로펠러가 힘차게 돌고 있다.
21. The aerogenerators are turning vigorously.

23. 셰스메에 도착.
23. I arrived at Çesme.
24. 마침 바닷물이 만조여서 둑방아래 0.5미터쯤까지 차올랐다. 온난화로 해수면이 높아질까 걱정되는 장면이다.
24. It was a high tide. The water rose up to 0.5 meter from the top of the dike.
It showes the vivid proof of climate change.
25. 여기에는 아담하고 오래된 성이 있다. 둘러볼 시간이 없는 점이 아쉽다.
25. There was an old and elegant castle.
It was too bad for me not to have enough time to see the castle.

29. The city had well-designed facilities.

34. 이윽고 Xios(Chios)에 도착해서
34. At last, I arrived at Xios.

36. 대포가 남아 있는 작은 성을 뒤로 하고
36. I saw a small castle which had old cannon left.
37. 본격 항해를 시작한다.
37. The real voyage started.
38. 타이타닉호를 연상케 하는 커다란 페리다. 물위에 떠서 고속으로 달리는.
38. It was a big ferry which reminded me of Titanic.
The floating ferry sailed at high speed.
39. 바다빛깔이 검푸르다. 우주의 빛깔을 받았다가 토하는 듯한.
39. The color of the sea was dark blue. The sea seemed to inhale cosmic color and emit blue color.

41. 갑판위에서 낮잠도 한숨 자면서 에게해이자 지중해의 풍광을 감상한다.
41. I took a nap on the deck, and enjoyed nice scenery of Mediterranean.
42. 이윽고 어두워졌다.
42. It was getting dark.
43. 지나가는 화물선과 저녁달을 바다와 함께 담아보았다.
43. I took a picture which had both the moon and the freighter passing by.
44. 아테네 Piraeus항구에 밤10시반 도착.
44. I arrived at Port Piraeus in Athens at 10:30 at night.
45. 이튿날 전철을 타고,
45. The next day, I took a street car.
46. 아크로폴리스로 간다.
46. I went to Acropolis.

올겨울 크리스머스때부터 여기서부터 걸을 것이다.
