Leptokarya ~ Litochoro Station

1. 일어나자마자 방에서 일출을 기다린다.

As soon as I wake up, I am waiting for the sunrise in the room.

2. 벌써 수평선위로 올라왔건만 구름에 갇혀있던 태양이 머리를 내민다.

어제까지 엿새를 걸은 후라서
오늘은 휴식을 하면서 계획을 짠다.

The sun, which has already risen above the horizontal line but is trapped in the clouds.

The sun holds out its head.
I walked six days until yesterday.
Today, I'm taking a break and planning.

3. 그런데 코스가 만만찮다.
혼자서 짐을 갖고 다니며 숙소에 옮겨놓고 매일 연속적인 보행을 하는 것이어서 원래 쉽지 않은 계획이다.
지금까지는 코스를 따라 철도가 있었고 주요역에는 숙소가 있어서 비교적 순조로웠다. 하지만 지금부터 마케도니아로 가는 일주일 남짓한 코스는 고차방정식을 풀어야 한다.

However, the new course is tough.
It is not an easy job. I have to carry the luggage alone and move to the hostel and walk continuously every day.
Until now, there were railways along the walking course and the main stations had accommodations, so it was a relatively smooth course. From now on, I have to look for a good walking course to Macedonia. It is as difficult as solving higher-order equations. It may take a week or so.

4. 철도는 2/3 정도까지만 따라가는데 문제는 그 이후는 버스도 잘 다니지 않는 길이라는 것.

대개 어느 동네든지 철도가 없다면 버스가 잘 다니는 편이므로 버스정류장을 기준으로 계획을 짜면 된다. 하지만 밀도가 낮은 그리스는 버스정류장 정보가 잘 안보인다.
더욱 중요한 것은 철도역에 인접한 호텔이 보이지 않았다는 점. 그리고 나머지 1/3구간의 이동과 숙소문제 그리고 국경통과시의 이동방법 문제 등이 여간 까다롭지 않다.
그러면서 매일 20~25km을 쉬지않고 걷는 것, 성경의 '데살로니가 전서'에 나오는 Thessaloniki 도시의 관광도 해야 한다.

코스를 검토해보니 가장 문제가 되는 것이 135km의 중간쯤에 위치하고 마지막 철도역이 있는 Adendro라는 동네에 호텔이 없는 것이었다. Platy라는 역에라도 호텔이 있으면 좋겠는데 지도에는 있지만 확인전화를 해보니 영업을 안한다는 것.
검토를 하다가 Adendro에 직접 가보기로 했다. 혹시 검색 안되는 민박집이라도 있을까봐.

The railway follows only about 2/3 of the way, but the problem is that it is also difficult to use the public bus in the remnant 1/3 course.

If you don’t have a railroad, you can plan a bus, but in Greece, where the population density is low, you can’t find the bus stop information.
More importantly, there was no hotel adjacent to the railway station. In the remaining one-third of the course, movement , accommodation, and passing through the border are not easy job.
In the meantime, I should walk 20 ~ 25km every day. Also I am going to tour the city of Thessaloniki in the Bible's "Thessalonika The First".

When I reviewed the course, the most problematic thing was that there was no hotel in Adendro, which was located in the middle of 135 kms and had the last railway station. I hoped to find a hotel at Platy station. There was one, but it was out of business when I made a call for reservation.

In the middle of a review. I decided to go to Adendro myself. I hoped to find a guesthouse which

is missed on the web information..

5. 기차를 타러 Leptokarya 역으로 갔다. 기차시간표.

I went to Leptokarya railway station to take the train; train timetable.

6. 기차를 타고 40분쯤 그 동네에 가서 한바퀴 돌아보니 그런 간판이 전혀 눈에 띄지 않는다.

돌아오는 기차안에서 다시 구상을 했다.
'데살로니가'의 호텔을 출퇴근하는 방식으로 적극 활용하는 수밖에 없다.
그리하여 다음과 같은 계획안을 성안했다.

It took 40 minutes by train from Leptokarya. I looked around the town and see no sign of hostels.

I rethinked it on the train back.

Inevitably I have to commute to the hotel of Thessalonika.
Thus, the following plan was proposed

8. 사흘 후 1월10일에 데살로니가로 짐을 옮기면서 관광을 하고 나머지 날은 착실히 걷는 것.
순조롭게 추진하자면 오늘 오후를 놀아선 안된다. 가까운 곳에 있는 역까지 8km쯤이라도 걸어 두는게 좋다.

Three days later, on January 10th, I will travel to the Thessaloniki carrying luggage. And I have to walk steadily the other days.
For smooth walking schadule, I need to walk about 8 kms near to the railway station.

9. 점심 식당에 걸린 그림

10. 점심식사로 멸치튀김을 먹었다. 생멸치를 튀긴 것이라 고소한 맛이 일품이다.

오른쪽 아래의 양파와 마늘은 필자가 주방에 특별주문한 것. 12유로.

I ate fried anchovies for lunch. It is a good taste. It is fried raw anchovies.
Onions and garlics on the lower right dish were special orders for me in the kitchen. 12 euros.
