3. 하루 묵은 Hotel Park. 주인장이 직접 짐을 날라다 주겠다고 한다.
The owner of the Hotel Park slept last night will deliver my luggage.
4. 출발한지 얼마 안되어 큰 벽돌공장이 보인다.
I have just started and I see a big brick factory.
5. 오늘도 이런 길을 간다. 고속도로와 나란히 있는 지방도로인데 일요일이라서 그런지 차도 거의 없다.
Today is the same easy-walking road. It’s a local road alongside the highway, and there’s hardly any car because it’s Sunday.
6. 벌통이 자주 보인다. 이 나라는 양봉업이 왕성한듯.
Beehives are often seen. Beekeeping looks like flourishing in this country.
7. 큰 공장을 짓고 있는 곳을 지난다.
Pass through a place where a large factory is under construction.

The grasses under the trees are green.

10. 하루종일 조용한 길을 걸으며 1학기 강의와 세미나에 대한 구상을 하였다.
I walked a quiet road all day and planned a lecture and seminar for spring semester.

13. 그러는데 경찰이 나그네를 세운다. 팜플렛을 보고 이해하더니 금새 엄지척이다.
경찰이 이처럼 친밀해하다니~
인도이후로는 오랫만이다.
Then the police pull up me, the traveler. He looks at the pamphlet and understands it, then thumbs it up.
The police are so kind as if we are intimate.
This is the first time I've seen a police check in India long time ago.

It's an old iron bridge.

The Bardar River tributaries I saw the day before yesterday.

I see the village of destination.
18. 끝날 무렵까지도 평범한 하루가 되는 줄 알았다.
I thought it was a normal day until the end.

20. 갑자기 젊은이들이 많이 눈에 띈다.
Suddenly, young people are very noticeable.
21. 웬일인가 보니 어느 Cafe/Bar에 성장을 한 차림으로 모여서 놀고 있다. 안을 들여다 보니 수십명이 꽉 차있다.
그들은 홀연히 등장한 나그네가 신기한듯. 몸자보에 있는 South Korea글자를 보더니 반가워 한다. 필자는 팜플렛을 많이 나눠주고는 걸어온 길을 설명한다.
Somehow, in suits, people are gathering in a Cafe/Bar, and when I look inside, I see dozens of people full. They seem to meet a strange traveler who appeared suddenly.
They are delighted to see the South Korean letter of the outer coat .
I hand put a lot of pamphlets and explain the way I walked.

All right, everybody's thumbs, and now it's selfie time.

26. 잘생긴 청년들이다. 필자의 얼굴도 바뀌고 있다.
They are handsome young men. My face is changing.
27. 이번에는 동네 식당에 들어갔더니 성인남자들이 왁자지껄하다.
뭔가 동네에 행사가 있었던 걸까?
This time I went into a local restaurant.
The adult men are talking.

32. 유럽에 온 이래 가장 많은 이와 셀피를 찍은 날이다.
It is the day when I took selfies with the most people since I came to Europe.
33. 이윽고 점심을 먹었다. 엄청난 양의 샐러드.
Finally I ate lunch. It's a huge amount of salad.
34. 숙소인 Sobi Rooms 에 일찍 도착했다. 10유로의 게스트하우스다.
I arrived early at Sobi Rooms, a quarters; a guesthouse of 10 euros per night.
35. 숙소에 도착했더니 친절한 주인장이 오늘은 바로 Piphany Celebration Day라는게 아닌가? 얼른 검색해보니 예수님이 요한에게 세례를 받은 날이다.

날짜는 나라별로 다른데
북마케도니아는 오늘 1월19일이다.
When I arrived at the hostel, the kind owner said it was Epiphany Celebration Day. I searched it and found that Jesus was baptized by John.

Epiphany is the big anniversary day for the Orthodox Church.
The dates are different by country.
It is today on January 19 in North Macedonia.
36. 자신의 남편까지 마을남자들이 겨울의 찬 강물에 물속에 들어가서 예수님처럼 세례를 받는 퍼포먼스를 행한다고 한다.
이 사진도 이 분 폰에 있는 것을 담았다.
The village men including her husband enter the cold waters of winter and perform a performance that is baptized like Jesus.
This picture also is a copy of photo in her phone.
37. 그러고 보니 이런 날에 동방에서 걸어온 나그네가 이 마을에 등장했던 셈이다~
그들이 특별히 반겨하던 분위기가 이해된다.
마치 '동방박사'인 것처럼^^
So on this day, a traveler from the east appeared in this town ~
I understand the atmosphere they were particularly pleased with me.
Like "Dr. East."
38. 축일이라고 주인장이 커피와 함께 내어온 다과상이다.
아래쪽 검은 동그란 것이 벌꿀에 절인 무슨 열매인듯 한데, 북마케도니아에만 있다고 설명한다.
쫄깃하고 달삭한 맛이 일품이다.
그러고 보니 오늘도 그런 하루다~
It is a refreshment in memory of Epiphany Celebration Day that the owner has brought out with coffee.
The black round below seems to be some kind of honey-spread fruit, which is only in Northern Macedonia. It tastes good and sweet.
So, it's another special day.
