■ The Area of Figures : 도형의 넓이
☆ Trapezoid : 사다리꼴
In a trapezoid, the parallel two sides are called Base.
사다리꼴에서 평행한 두 변을 밑변이라고 합니다
Bases are called Upper Base or Lower Base depending on its location.
밑변은 위치에 따라 윗변 또는 아랫변 이라고 합니다.
And the distance between two bases is called Height.
그리고 두 밑변 사이의 거리를 높이 라고 합니다.
( Area of a Trapezoid ) 사다리꼴의 넓이
= Area of a Parallelogram ÷ 2 = 평행사변형의 넓이 ÷ 2
= ( Base ) × ( Height ) ÷ 2 = ( 밑변 ) × ( 높이 ) ÷ 2
= { ( Upper Base ) + ( Lower Base ) } × ( Height ) ÷ 2
◈ The Area of a Rhombus : 마름모의 넓이

= ( Area of a Rectangle ) ÷ 2 = 직사각형의 넓이 ÷ 2
= ( Length ) × ( Width ) ÷ 2 = 가로 × 세로 ÷ 2
= ( length of a diagonal ) × ( length of the other diagonal ) ÷ 2
= ( 한 대각선의 길이 ) × ( 다른 대각선의 길이 ) ÷ 2

Solution : Shaded region is the half of the total rectangle area.
( 20 × 10 ) ÷ 2 = 100
Answer : 100
2. Find the area of the trapezoid.
Solution : ( 4 + 2 ) × 5 ÷ 2 = 15 ( cm^2 )
Answer : 15 ( cm^2 )
3. Find the area of the rhombus.
Solution : Area of the rhombus = 8 × 7 ÷ 2 = 28 (cm^2)
Answer : 28
4. The area of the following rhombus is 90 cm². Fill in the blank.
Solution 9 × □ ÷ 2 = 90 ⇒ □ = 20 (cm)
