Summary:
Paul warns believers not to deceive themselves by adopting the world’s wisdom, which God sees as foolish. Instead, they should become “fools” in the world’s eyes to gain true wisdom from God. Human boasting is empty because all things already belong to those in Christ—whether Paul, Apollos, Cephas, the world, life, death, present, or future—and they themselves belong to Christ, and Christ belongs to God.
Teaching:
Do not let yourself be deceived. When you study and gain experience, you may think you know, and act as though what you know is right. But in God’s eyes, it is neither right nor true wisdom. Instead, He calls you to become “foolish.”
So, let us not pretend to know inside or outside the church. Even if you know something, do not regard it as right as if it were God’s truth. Only God’s truth is truly right. Do not assert what you know as right. When you refrain from doing so, God will make you truly wise.
