I wandered lonely as a cloud
That floats on high o'er vales and hills,
When all at once I saw a crowd,
A host, of golden daffodils;
Beside the lake, beneath the trees,
Fluttering and dancing in the breeze.
Continuous as the stars that shine
And twinkle on the Milky Way,
They stretched in never-ending line
Along the margin of a bay:
Ten thousand saw I at a glance,
Tossing their heads in sprightly dance.
The waves beside them danced, but they
Out-did the sparkling waves in glee:
A Poet could not but be gay,
In such a jocund company:
I gazed - and gazed - but little thought
what wealth the show to me had brought:
For oft, when on my couch I lie
In vacant or in pensive mood,
They flash upon that inward eye
Which is the bliss of solitude;
And then my heart with pleasure fills,
And dances with the daffodils.
저는 다음과 같이 옮겨보았습니다.

그토록 명랑한 벗이 있으니
시인은 즐거울 수밖에 없으리라:
나는 응시하고 또 응시했으나 그 광경이 나에게
어떤 부를 가져왔는지 생각이 미치지 못했다:
왜냐하면 내가 공허하거나 생각에 잠겨
카우치에 누웠을 때 종종
그들이 그 내적인 눈에 번쩍이니까
그것은 고독의 지복(至福)인데;
그리고 내 가슴이 즐거움으로 채워지고,
수선화와 함께 춤추니까.
마지막연 4행의 "the bliss of solitude"가 언제나 참 좋습니다. 하늘에 떠다니는 한 조각 구름처럼
혼자 정처없이 떠돌아다니다가 갑자기 노오란 수선화가 무더기로 피어있는 것이 시인의 눈에 들어오고
산들바람에 흔들리는 수선화 무리의 모든 움직임이 시인에게 생동감과 환희로 가득 차 있는 것을 볼 수 있습니다.
