# Scene 1

2. I used to be.

 

 

 

1. I won’t let you down.                                                                                     

: I won’t let you (동작) [ 당신이 ~ 하게 두지 않을 거예요 ]          

 

1. 당신이 프로젝트를 망치게 두지 않을 거예요.  

I won’t let you ruin my project.

2. 위험하기 때문에, 당신이 차를 운전하게 두지 않을 거예요.   

I won’t let you drive my car because it is dangerous.            

                                                                    

3. 당신이 없이 혼자 가게 두지 않을 거예요.

I won’t let you go alone without me.

 

 

 

2. I used to be.                                                                                 

: I used to ~ [ 예전에는 ~ 했었어요 ]       

 

1. 예전에 집에서 요리하는 좋아했는데, 그것에 흥미를 잃었어요.         

I used to like cooking at home, but I lost interest in it.

 

2. 그녀와 저는 예전에 동안 같은 부서에서 일했었어요.

She and I used to work in the same department for a couple of years.

 

3. 예전에 렌즈를 꼈었는데, 전에 라식 수술받았어요.

I used to wear contacts, but I got LASIK surgery a few years ago.

 

 

 

3. Speaking                                                                                                                                

 

Q : You prefer eating ready meals because they are convenient.

 

A : 예전에 집에서 요리하는 좋아했는데, 그것에 흥미를 잃었어요.

I used to like cooking at home, but I lost interest in it.

 

요즘은 그냥 데워 먹기만 하는 음식을 선호해요.  

I just prefer ready meals these days.

 

몸에 좋고 영양가 있는 먹어야 하는 알지만, 귀찮아요.

I know I should eat something healthy and nutritious, but it’s a hassle.

 

가끔은 음식 배달앱을 사용해요.

Sometimes I use food delivery apps.                                                                             

 

한국에서는 거의 모든 음식이 배달되거든요.

Almost any type of food in Korea can be delivered.

 

 

 

# Scene 2

4. He ended up selling ’em products.

5. Jerry says I don’t have to fire him or anybody else.

1. 결국 부모님에게 나머지 돈을 빌리고 말았어요.

I ended up borrowing the rest of the money from my parents.

 

2. 결국 집에서 국수를 먹고 말았어요.

I ended up eating noodles at home.                                                                                    

 

3. 우리는 결국 수리공을 부르고 추가로 돈을 지불하고 말았어요.

We ended up calling a repairman and paying extra money.

 

 

 

5. Jerry says I don’t have to fire him or anybody else.         

: You don’t have to ~ [ 당신 ~ 필요 없어요 ]

 

1. 아무것도 필요 없어요, 그저 여기 앉아서 말만 들어요.

You don’t have to do anything - just sit here and listen to me.

 

2. 당신이 말한 것에 대해 미안해 필요 없어요.   

You don’t have to be sorry for what you said.           

                                                                           

3. 기다릴 필요 없어요, 제가 끝나면 문자 할게요.

You don’t have to wait for me. I will text you when I’m done.

 

 

 

6. Speaking                                                                                                                                

 

Q : Your laptop is not working properly,

so you would like to use your friend’s.

A : 노트북이 제대로 작동하지 않아요.

My laptop is not working properly.                                                                                  

 

뭐가 문제인지 모르겠지만, 다행히 모든 파일을 백업해 뒀어요.

I don’t know what is wrong, but fortunately I backed up all the files.

 

당신 잠깐 사용해도 될까요?

Could I use yours for a second?                                                

 

프로젝트 파일을 개인 이메일로 보내야 해요.

I have to send the project file to my personal email account.

 

기다릴 필요 없어요, 제가 끝나면 문자 할게요.

You don’t have to wait for me.  I will text you when I’m done.
