Before the upcoming 2024 seminar in the United States, with a sincere desire to help the USA Haedong Kumdo practitioners in their lifelong training, I wrote an article titled "7 parts of Read the Meta language of the Jinyoung Ssangkum Ryu HK" as a proposition.
In this article, I briefly explained, "Sword and KI," "the Principles and Theory of Ssangkum and Kimu," which are subject on the seminar agenda. I also translated and shared the contents of the past interview into English, explaining my previous activities and background in Haedong Kumdo.
I anticipate the participation of many accomplished instructors and masters and practitioners of Haedong Kumdo from the United States in this seminar.
I hope that by discussing various techniques and explanations not found in the other Haedong Kumdo training, participants can understand them with their bodies and minds, contributing to their personal development and growth.
Through this seminar, I also hope that participants can learn about the "Forgotten Half in Martial Arts" and understand what it means, as well as uncover the secrets it reveals for the first time in the 21st century, as described in my book "Searching for the Forgotten Half in Martial Arts."

1. The true meaning and acquisition of martial arts training
In the current era of the 21st century, especially in the age of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, understanding the true meaning and acquisition of martial arts training means recognizing its role in human life at this moment. Only when one realizes how martial arts training can contribute practically in daily life, at this moment in this era, can one truly approach the purpose of martial arts training for modern individuals of the 21st century.
The ultimate goal of martial arts is indeed primarily about subduing opponents to protect oneself, one's family, and one's nation. That's the technical aspect of martial arts.
However, its application and development should evolve with the times, ensuring that it serves basic needs such as health and happiness in everyday life. Otherwise, there would be no reason for its practice.
2. The essence of martial arts training
The most fundamental essence of martial arts training is Energy Flow. Because it is what moves the body, it is the evidence of being alive.
It is not only fundamental to martial arts but also to the creation of the universe.
Therefore, one should learn and teach it from the very beginning of martial arts training. If one does not know the method and process, it is never too late to start now.
By aligning oneself with the natural laws and truths through Energy Flow,
As all truths reside under one truth,
One can understand the fundamental essence of martial arts training,
Ultimately leading to better martial arts practice and creating a more abundant and serene life for each individual.
In essence,
Realizing the essence of martial arts training means understanding that no matter what breathing exercises, meditation practices, or spiritual training one engages in, they all remain within the same essence. Thus, one can perceive the essence of the flow of all aspects of human society, including any religion, philosophy, humanities, and other fields.

3. Principles and Theory of Jinyoung Ssangkum Ryu
The core principle of Ssangkum Ryu revolves around Energy Flow, emphasizing the necessity of experiencing the body's spontaneous movement.
Training in hand-to-hand combat aids in recognizing and experiencing this principle, which forms the basis of wielding two swords.
Practitioners engage in basic actions such as blocking, striking, kicking, and evading, both unarmed and with one or two swords.
Direct experience leads to a natural understanding of the principles and theory of Jinyoung Ssangkum Ryu.
Observing the training regimen within Jinyoung Ssangkum Ryu allows for a deeper comprehension of its principles and theory.
The truth and essence of all things, including martial arts, are simple and devoid of unnecessary complexity, mystery, or abstraction. If they were otherwise, they wouldn't truly embody the essence of martial arts.
