A Haedong Kumdo instructor from Australia contacted me to confirm if the interpretation of the above phrases was correct. It is a literal translation and an accurate one.
For people from countries that do not use Chinese characters, understanding this text is not easy.
Questions arise about why such phrases exist and how to practice swordsmanship accordingly.
The Korean and Japanese terms for "Hwalingeom" are identical in Chinese characters, only the pronunciation differs.
For reference, I express "Hwalinkum" in English as "Savior Sword."
In any case, since they went through the trouble to ask me, simply answering with "yes" or "no" would not be sufficiently polite. Understanding just the meaning of the words is like only peeling the outer layer of an onion. It is difficult to ask proper questions without knowing, and even when knowledgeable, it is not easy to ask in detail.
The important thing here is that if one understands what "Hwalinkum" means, just by the characters themselves,
The next step is to ask how to train to reach the state of "Hwalinkum,"
Moreover, if one has mastered "Hwalingeom," what practical applications it has, among other questions.
When mentioning "Hwalinkum," explaining terms like "Sarinkum," "YangsaengKum," "Simkum," "Kumseonilyeo," and "Kumsim-ilche" together helps a lot in understanding and personal training.

호주의 해동검도 사범이 위의 글귀 해석이 맞는지, 확인 차 연락이 왔다. 글자 그대로의 해석이며, 맞는 번역이다.
한자를 사용하지않는 나라의 사람들이
이 글을 이해하는 것은 쉽지 않다.
왜, 그런말이 나왔으며,
그럼 어떻게 검수련을 해야 한다는 것인지, 여러가지 궁금점이 도출된다.
활인검의 한국어와 일본어는 한자로는 글자가 동일하다. 단지 그 발음만 다를 뿐이다.
참고로 본인은
활인검을 영어로 "Savior Sword"라고 표현한다.
암튼 어렵게 본인에게 물어 왔는데,
그냥 yes와 no라는 대답만을 한다면, 충분한 예의가 아닐 듯 싶다. 왜냐면, 그 말의 의미만 이해한다는 것은 양파의 겉껍질에 불과하기 때문이다.
몰라서도 바른 질문을 못하겠지만, 안다해도, 구구절절 묻기가 쉽지 않다.
여기서 중요한 것은
활인검이 무슨 뜻인지를,
글자 그 자체로서 이해를 했다면,
그 다음 어떻게 수련해야
활인검의 경지에 이를 수 있는지,
게다가 활인검을 터득했다면
어떤 실용적 쓰임이 있는지 기타 등의 의문을 제기하는 것이 정상이다.
활인검을 언급하게 되면
살인검, 양생검, 심검, 검선일여, 심검일체 등과 같은 말들도 함께 설명하면 이해와 각자의 수련에 많은 도움이 된다.

무술학적(운동학적), 철학적, 종교적, 인문학적인 사고의 접근을 하면서
