This morning (April 5th), I toured San Sebastian and left for the South of France at 11:25 AM (5,793 km). I wanted to see the Roman ruins in the South of France and experience firsthand the works of three Post-Impressionist masters who worked in Provence: Van Gogh, Paul Gauguin, and Paul Cézanne. I had planned to visit the Spanish border town of Renteria, but the highway into France was so congested that I skipped it and entered France at 12:20 PM (5,822 km)

46) 4월 5일(목) 여정: 남 프랑스 Dax-로마 시대부터 뿜어내는 온천-


 오늘(4월 5일) 아침에 San Sebastian을 둘러보고 오전 11시 25분 남 프랑스로 떠났다.(5,793Km) 
남프랑스에 있는  로마 유적을 보고 프로방스 지방에서 활동한  3명의 후기 인상파 거장(반 고흐. 폴 고갱, 폴 세잔느)의 무대를 직접 느끼기 위해서다.
스페인 국경 도시 Renteria를 가 볼려고 하였으나 프랑스로 들어가는 고속 도로가 너무 밀려 그곳을 생략하고 12시 20분에 프랑스에 입국하였다.(5,822Km)

On the way to Dax, a hot spring city that has been gushing water since Roman times, there was a rest stop park where I had lunch with ramen, fresh rice, and kimchi stew that I had brought with me (14:00, 5,868 km)
로마 시대부터 분출해 온 온천 도시 Dax로 가는 도중 휴계소 공원이 있어 이곳에서 가지고 간 라면과 햇 밥, 김치 찌개로 점심을 들었다(14:00, 5,868Km)

                                    Dax is famous for bullfighting. In front of the bull statue...  Dax는 투우로 유명하다. 황소 상 앞에서...

                              A hot spring that has been continuously erupting since the Romans came to this area two thousand years ago
                                            2천년 전 로마가 이 지방에 왔을 때부터 끈임없이 분출해 온 온천

                                        Two women washed their hands in hot spring water. It was so hot that it was difficult to touch.                                                                     두 여인이 온천 물로 손을 씻다. 너무 뜨거워서 손을 대기가 어려웠다. 

                                                      The water is so hot that Mr. Jeongget scared as soon as he touch it.
                                                          정공도 너무 뜨거워서 손을 대자마자 기겁하다.

                                                          When I touched it, it was really hot. 나도 손을 대니 정말로 뜨거웠다.

In a country like ours, we'd have hot spring leisure facilities and enjoy bathing. But here, precious hot spring water... is being wasted.
우리나라 같았으면 온천 레져 시설을 갖추고 목욕을 즐길 것이다. 그러나 여기는 아까운 온천 물을
그대로 흘러 버리고 있다.

At 3pm we left Dax (5,907km) for Toulouse, an industrial center and canal city in southern France.
오후 3시 Dax(5,907Km)를 떠나  프랑스 남부의 산업 중심 도시이며 운하 도시인 Toulouse(뚜루)로 떠났다.
