I-20 request & 재정보증서류

입학서류를 보내고, 도착확인여부와 함께 8.15 입학사정이 진행된다는 메일을

admission dept로부터 받았습니다. 제가 질문한 것에 대한 답변으로입니다.

앞서도 질문하신 분이 있으시던데..

암튼, iso office로 부터 받은 내용을 copy 합니다.

1. Your offical acceptance라 하는 것이 I-20 request form을 작성해서

    보내는 것을 의미하나요?

2. 재정보증서등은 제 생각엔 학교로 부터 입학허가를 받은 후 진행해야

    순서적으로 맞을 듯 한데.. 음~ 미리 준비해 놓아야 하는 것일까요?

    서류 접수후, 4주안에 입학여부가 결정되어 통보된다고 하던데..

    입학허가를 받아야 학생번호가 나오는 것이겠죠?  i-20 request form에 의거하여..

3. 재정보증서는 어떤은행이든 은행잔고증명서(us$)로 받아

    I-20 request form과 함께 우편으로 또한 보내져야 하는 것이지요?

Dear ???:

Thank you for your interest in Fuller Theological Seminary. I am writing to
you from the International Services Office. If and when you are accepted
into a degree program, our office will process the documents necessary to
acquire a student visa.

There are two things we need in order to issue you the required documents
for obtaining your visa. They are:

1. Your official acceptance to Fuller Theological Seminary;
2. Your financial guarantee, which verifies that you have sufficient funds
to complete your academic program. This includes all tuition and fees as
well as living expenses for you and any dependents that may accompany you.
(Refer to the fuller website at:

expenses, annual tuition, bank documentation, and statement of financial
support.)

Additionally, you may be requested to deposit the first quarter's tuition
and fees in advance. Please keep in mind that due to the strict nature of
immigration regulations you must be precise and accurate on all of your
forms and documents.

Official acceptance는 학교로부터 정식 입학허가서를 받는 것을 말합니다. 입학허가서가 나온 뒤에 ISO에서 비자를 받도록 SEVIS I-20를 발행하여 보내게 됩니다. 이 때 ISO에서 재정보증서를 보내달라고 할 것입니다. I-20를 위한 재정보증서는 영문은행잔고만으로도 가능합니다. 비자받을 때 준비하는 것과는 달라서 은행잔고의 기간은 불필요합니다. 간단하게 적었습니다. 혹시 더 필요한 질문이 있으시면 다시 질문을 남겨주세요.

자신의 이름으로 된 계좌 잔고 증명을 첨부하던지 가족이나 교회 그리고 단체의 잔고 증명과 재정 보증 증명서 를 첨부하시면 I-20를 받는 일에는 문제가 없습니다. 그리고 아마 미리 비자를 받기 위한 은행잔고 증명 준비도 하시는 것이 좋을 것입니다.
