The Working Holiday Agreement between Ireland and the Republic of Korea allows Irish and Korean citizens to travel and work in each other's country for up to 12 months.

Working Holiday Agreement - Public Information FAQs (아일랜드 워킹홀리데 코로나 관련 FAQs)
1. I want to apply to travel to Ireland under a Working Holiday Authorisation. Is it possible currently to do so?
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we have temporarily ceased accepting new applications under the Working Holiday Authorisation programme. We intend to resume accepting applications when circumstances allow. We do not expect that we will be in a position to accept any further applications in the near future.
Our primary concern remains the health, welfare and wellbeing of those who would seek to travel to Ireland on a WHA. We continue to monitor the rapidly evolving situation here and in the relevant locations abroad, in terms particularly of public health advice, travel restrictions, job opportunities and the availability of short-term accommodation.
We will make a public announcement when we begin to accept new applications. Please keep an eye on our website.
아일랜드 워킹홀리데이 신청 가능여부 - 현재 코로나로 인하여 잠정 중단되었으며, 추후 신청서 접수 재개 시 대사관 홈페이지를 통해 공지 할 예정이므로 지속적으로 모니터링 하시기 바랍니다. 단, 가까운 시일내에 신청 접수가 재개되기는 힘들것으로 예상합니다.
2. I am currently in Ireland under the WHA programme. Will my permission to remain be extended?
In light of the uncertainties caused by COVID19, the Immigration Service Delivery in recent months has announced several general extensions of all permissions to remain in Ireland, including permissions related to the WHA. On 22 December, it was announced that the temporary extension of immigration and international protection permissions would be in place up to 20 April 2021. This applies to permissions that are due to expire between 21 January 2021 and 20 April 2021.
The terms and conditions as outlined in the WHA application form state clearly that participants in the WHA scheme must leave Ireland on the expiration of the permission. As such, we strongly advise all WHA holders to make all necessary arrangements to depart Ireland in adequate time in advance of the expiry of their permission to remain. Please note that we are not anticipating any further extension of permission to remain.
현재 워킹홀리데이로 아일랜드에 체류중인 경우 체류허가 (IRP) 기간연장가능여부 - 아일랜드 이민국 (Immigration Service Delivery-ISD)은 지난 몇 달 동안 워킹홀리데이를 포함한 체류허가를 수 차례 연장 조치 하였으며, 지난 2020년12월 22일에는 오는 2021년 4월 20일까지 체류허가 기한 연장에 대한 발표가 있었습니다. 이 기한 연장은 체류허가 만료일이 1월 21일부터 4월 20일 사이인 경우 해당되며 워킹홀리데이 체류허가 소지자들에게도 적용됩니다.
워킹홀리데이 프로그램 약관에 따라 워킹홀리데이 체류자들의 경우 연장 및 허가된 체류기간 만료 시 반드시 아일랜드를 떠나야 합니다. 더 이상의 체류기한 자동 연장은 없을 것으로 예상되니 출국에 관하여 사전 대비하시기 바랍니다.
3. I was in Ireland under the WHA programme, but returned to my normal country of residence due to the COVID19 situation. Can I return in the future on my current permissions?
Our advice remains not to travel to Ireland at this time. Our primary concern remains the health, welfare and wellbeing of those who would seek to travel to Ireland on a WHA. A range of restrictions remain in place in order to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic and limit contagion, including self-restriction for 14 days on arrival. Temporary employment opportunities are scarce and opportunities to travel internally may be limited.
If you have registered with Immigration Service Delivery and have been issued with an Irish Residents Permit (IRP) during your initial stay, you are eligible to return to Ireland until that permission expires.
If you have not yet registered and a holder of an authorisation document issued in 2019, please contact the Embassy to discuss your personal situation
아일랜드 입국 후 코로나로 인하여 한국으로 귀국한 경우 (2019년합격자에한하여) - 한국으로 귀국 전 아일랜드 이민국에 등록을 완료하여 거주허가-IRP를 소지한 경우 아일랜드로 돌아가 IRP 만료 시 까지 체류 가능합니다.
아일랜드이민국에 등록하지 못한 경우 (IRP 미 소지의 경우) 대사관으로 연락바랍니다.
4. I currently hold a valid WHA but have not yet travelled to Ireland. Can I still travel? What if it expires (2019합격자에한함)?
Our strong advice remains not to travel to Ireland at this time. Our primary concern remains the health, welfare and wellbeing of those who would seek to travel to Ireland on a WHA. A range of restrictions remain in place in order to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic and limit contagion, including self-restriction for 14 days on arrival. Temporary employment opportunities are scarce and opportunities to travel internally may be limited.
We continue to monitor the rapidly evolving situation here and in the relevant locations abroad, in terms particularly of public health advice, travel restrictions, job opportunities and the availability of short-term accommodation.
We do not, at this stage, expect that conditions will change sufficiently to enable you to take up your WHA opportunity in Ireland in the near future. We will, when circumstances allow, re-issue letters of Authorisation with revised dates of travel for individuals who were unable to travel in 2020 due to COVID-19. While holders of WHA authorisation letters with an expiry date in 2020 are eligible to travel to Ireland up to the end of 2020, we continue to advise that you delay your travel until circumstances improveand apply for your Letter of Authorisation to be re-issued with extended dates of validity.
We hope you will have an opportunity to visit Ireland as soon as circumstances improve and that you are able then to fully enjoy the opportunities and experiences that are the ambition of this programme.
승인서 발급 후 아직 아일랜드에 입국하지 아니한경우 (2019년합격자에한함) – 소지한 승인서의 만료일이 2020년인 경우 (2019년 상/하반기 합격자 모두 승인서 만료일이 2020년 이므로 이에 해당됨) 만료일이 연장되어 2020년 12월31일까지 아일랜드 입국이 가능합니다. 별도의 승인서 재발급은 필요하지 않습니다. 다만, 현재 아일랜드 및 세계적인 코로나 대 유행으로 인하여 아일랜드 체류 시 여러가지 제약이 따를 수 있으니 유의 하시기 바랍니다.
덧붙여, 코로나로 인한 불편과 불이익을 최소화 하고자 주한아일랜드대사관은 2019년 합격자에 한하여 제한적인 조건에서 승인서 재발급을 계획하고 있습니다 (승인서 원본 반환 및 아일랜드 미 입국이 증빙 되는 경우). 이는 코로나로 인하여 승인서 철회요청을 한 합격자에게도 적용됩니다. 정확한 발급 시기는 아직 정해진 바 없습니다. 2021년 코로나 국면을 지켜본 후 결정될 시 홈페이지 및 단체 메일을 통해 고지할 예정입니다.
5. Can I transition from a WHA to another form of permission?

타 거주허가로 전환 가능 여부 – 워킹홀리데이 약관에 따라 아일랜드 워킹홀리데이 참가자는 체류기간 만료 시 반드시 아일랜드를 떠나야 하며 연장 또는 타 거주허가 (IRP)로 전환이 불가합니다.
