프랑스의 인상주의 화가.
오랫동안 재정적으로 어려웠으면서도 인상주의의 목표에 대한 신념을 잃지 않았으며,
심한 눈병에도 불구하고 후기에 가장 많은 작품을 만들어냈다. 후기에 풍경이나 시골 풍경을 소재로 그린 그림으로는
〈테아트르 프랑세즈의 광장 Place du Théâtre Française〉(1898)·〈브뤼주의 다리 Bridge at Bruges〉(1903) 등이 있다.
