형수님 영전에 바칩니다...춘강 구홍덕
형수님께서 돌아가셨다는 부고는
저를 깜짝 놀라게 하였습니다.
5.18 직후 형수님을 처음 뵙고
서글서글하신 마음씨와
호탕하신 웃음 소리에
그만 모든 마음을 빼앗겼습니다.
저는 고 총무님 사모님이 아니라
형수님으로 섬겼고
형수님께서 차려주신 밥을
솔찬히 먹었습니다.
늘 그대로의 모습으로
그 자리에 계실 줄 알았는데
청천벽력같은 별세 소식에
넋을 놓고 말았습니다.
하나님도 그런 제 마음을 아시는 듯
어제와 오늘 비를 뿌려대시는군요.
이곳에서의 모든 미련일랑 떨쳐버리시고
편안히 천국에 드시옵소서.
삼가 형수님의 명복을 빕니다.

The news of your passing
Took me by complete surprise.
I first met you shortly after May 18th,
And your gentle heart
And hearty laughter
Captivated me entirely.
I served you not as the wife of my colleague,
But as my own dear sister-in-law,
And I enjoyed many a meal
That you so kindly prepared.
I thought you would always be there,
Just as you had always been,
But the sudden news of your passing
Left me in a daze, quite inconsolable.
As if God understands my sorrow,
He has been casting down rain since yesterday.
