Thomas Edwin Mostyn
Thomas Edwin Mostyn, ROI, RWA (1864-1930)
British artist. A significant figure in European classical painting.
Born in Manchester, he studied painting at one of the firms which produced lithographs.

Early works written in the spirit of symbolism, but later became interested in ideas of the Pre-Raphaelite Thomas (this is especially noticeable when viewed numerous female portraits of the artist, paintings of religious content and illustrations to poems of Dante Gabriel Rossetti).
Since 1891, the Royal Academy of Arts presented 14 works Mostyn, and the rest were exhibited in the Gallery of Art in Manchester.
Today, in the circles of collectors and art lovers are very much appreciated the fantastic pictures and gorgeous landscapes and their special transparent atmosphere, filled with sunlight, or a fabulous evening landscapes - with quaint gardens, starry skies, lush colors and dark woods on the banks of the mysterious river.
