[틈틈이 영어공부] what did you expect?
- 영한 : 뭘 그리 놀라세요?, 당연한 것 아니냐?, 그게 뭐 놀랄 일이냐?
- 영영 : used to emphasize that there was nothing unexpected about a person or event, however disappointed one might be

섀런: 요리법엔 두 숟갈 넣으라는데 내가 세 숟갈 넣었어.
Lynn: Well what did you expect? Of course it's salty. You used too much.
린: 그럼 놀랄 것도 없잖아? 짠 게 당연하지. 너무 많이 넣었으니까.
Sharon: I'll add more water. Maybe that will help?
섀런: 물은 더 넣을께. 그럼 좀 나아질까?
Lynn: Oh I saw Barbara at the gym. She wants to get together and have lunch soon.
린: 참 운동하러 갔다가 바버러를 봤어. 조만간 만나서 점심 먹자고 그러던데.
Sharon: Maybe I'll have her over and serve this soup.
섀런: 집에 초대해서 이 수프를 대접할까.
Lynn: I would practice more before you did that.
린: 그러기 전에 좀더 연습해보는 게 좋지 않겠어.
Sharon: Maybe you're right.
섀런: 그게 맞을 수도 있지.
