'[동사 A (as) B]로 A를 B라고 부르다'를 만드는 동사들

name

 rename

 to change the name of (someone or something) 새로 이름 짓다, 이름을 갈다.

1.rename - assign a new name to; "Many streets in the former East Germany were renamed in 1990"
2.rename - name again or anew; "He was renamed Minister of the Interior"


Mumbai: Elphinstone Road, a suburban railway station on the Western Railway, will be now renamed as Prabhadevi, after a famous temple in the precincts of that station.

 nickname

   to give (someone) a name that is not that person's real name (어떤 사람)에게 본명과는 다른 이름을 지어 주다 :  to give a nickname to (someone) (어떤 사람)에게 별명[애칭]을 붙이다

She nicknamed him Winky.

The thief was nicknamed "Spiderman" for his wall-climbing skills. 그 도둑 타는 기술 때문스파이이라는 별명 붙었다.

They nicknamed meShorty’. 그들은 나에게 꼬마라는 별명을 붙였다.

call

 to talk to or refer to (someone or something) with a specified name …을 특정한 이름[별명]으로 부르다
Her name is Katherine but her friends all call her Kitty. This part of the city is called The Old Town. It's important to call things by their right names. Human beings belong to a large group of animals called mammals. The other children called him (bad) names. [=the other children spoke to him with cruel and insulting words in place of his name]

brand

They branded him a coward. [=they said he was a coward]대개 (be) branded의 형태로 씀 He was branded (as) a coward. The newspaper was branded racist for publishing the article.

brand him as cheap  그에게 경박하다는 낙인 찍다.


 misbrand 

To brand or label incorrectly, especially in order to mislead or defraud.
