나 거창한 길을 좇지 아니하고
주제넘게 놀라운 일을 꿈꾸지도 않사옵니다.
차라리 내 마음 차분히 가라앉혀,
젖 떨어진 어린 아기,
어미 품에 안긴 듯이 내 마음 평온합니다.

시인은 자신의 생명이 야훼에게서 비롯되었음을 기억한다.

자신의 존재와 인격이 야훼와 관계 속에서 끝없이 이어지고 새로이 만들어져 간다고 깨닫는다.

믿는 이들은, 거창한(?) 자아를 흔들림 없이 세워가거나 그 자아에 끌려다녀서는 안 된다는 것을 시인은 안다.

대단한 업적을 이뤄내거나 명망을 얻어서 존재의 의의를 확인해 나가거나 스스로를 과대 포장하는 일이 부질없음을 안다.

대신 하느님의 세계 안에서 지극히 작은 존재로서 있음을 본다.

하느님이 내시는 생명력을 스스로에게서 확인해 나간다.

시인처럼 세계 안에 존재하는 하느님의 다른 피조물들이 또한 하느님과 관계를 맺고 세계 안에 깃들어 있음을 시인은 놓치지 않는다.

이 모든 피조물들이 하느님의 뜻과는 다르게 세계에서 주변부로 밀려나는 '타자'가 되거나 떠밀려나가는 자가 되지 않도록

저들 저마다에게서 '빛나는' 생명력을 확인하고 입증해 낸다.

세계 안에 만들어지는 음울과 어둠을 하느님이 주시는 빛, 예수의 빛으로 밝혀 나간다.  
 
I do not busy myself with great matters,
with things too sublime for me.
Rather, I have stilled my soul,
Like a weaned child to its mother,
weaned is my soul.
[Psalm 131:2, NAB]

The psalmist remembers that his life originates from Yahweh. He realizes that his existence and personality are endlessly continued and newly formed within his relationship with Yahweh. The psalmist knows that believers should not unwaveringly establish a grandiose(?) ego or be dragged along by it. He knows that it is futile to confirm‎ the significance of his existence by achieving great feats or gaining fame, or to over-package himself. Instead, he sees himself as an extremely small being within God’s world. He confirm‎s the life force emanating from God within himself. Like the psalmist, the psalmist does not miss the fact that other creatures of God existing within the world also form a relationship with God and dwell within the world. It confirm‎s and proves the 'shining' vitality within each of these creatures so that they do not become 'others' pushed to the periphery of the world contrary to God's will, or become those who are pushed out. It illuminates the gloom and darkness created within the world with the light given by God, the light of Jesus.
