1. Greeting

 Hello. Nice to talk to you over the phone.
 = How are you doing? 
 = How are you today? =How's it going ?

           -   This is he. I'm fine.  And what about you?

 What's your name? May I have your name? 
 -  My name is Jung Hyun Im.
 How old are you? = What's your age? = May I have your age?
 -  I'm fifteen years old by American age.
 How many members do you have in your family?
 =Would you tell me more about your family?
 - There are six members in my family.
     I have one father, one mother, one grandmother, two sisters and me.
 How's your sisters?
 - There're pretty good.
 Which school do you go to? = Which school are you in?
 - I go to se-haw high school. - I am in se-hwa high school.
 What do you usually do in your free (spare, leisure) time?
 =What's your hobby?
 - My hobby is listening to music. I like ballad and dance music.
     I like 'I still believe' sung by Mariah Carey.
What do you want to be in the future?
=What's your dream (wish, hope)?
- I want to be an electric engineer. My role model is Thomas Edison.
Why?
- He invented so many things that are very useful in our life such as light,
   speaker, phonograph and so on.

 What's the purpose (goal, objective, aim) of your study in America?
 - Now is the time of globalization. So I want to get more advanced education.
 -  I think America is really famous for its qualified education.
 Why do you want to study in American boarding school?
 - America boarding school is famous for its better education.
 Why do you want to go to America?
 -  America is NO.1 Country in the world.

       Why did you choose our school?
           = What did you hear about our school?
          = Is there any particular reason to choose our school?
          - I've heard that your school has a good reputation,
              wonderful facilities, and great educational environment.

5.  Extracurricular activity/clubs

 Have you ever participated in any extracurricular activities?
 = Have you ever joined the clubs?
 - I have joined a library management, a soccer club,
    an invention club, R.C.Y. and so on.
 = What kind of club did you take part in?
  - I took part in a library management, a soccer club,
     an invention club, R.C.Y. and so on.
Have you enjoyed it? For what reason?
 - Of course. It was exciting. And I could learn how to cooperate

        What do you think your personality is like?
            - I always try to look on the bright side. And I think I'm an outgoing person.
               But I have to say that I need to be more patient to be better person in the future.
        How does your friend describe yourself?
           - They say I look on the bright side. And I am an outgoing person.
        What is your strong point? (=strength, advantage)
           - I think I'm really good at taking care of children.
               My mother always says she is proud of me because I look after my two
              younger sisters.
           What is your week point? (=weakness, shortcomings)
           - I have to say that I need to be more patient to be better person in the future.

        What do you usually do in your free time?
            - I listening to music. I like ballad and dance music.
         What is your specialty?
           - I think I'm really good at taking care of children. My mother says
           she is proud of my looking after my two younger sisters.
        Do you have any talent?

  -  In the past, I learned how to play the piano for 3 years.
      And also have been learning how to play the Drum.

  - His name is Kim, Min-Hee.
  Why do you like him (her)?
   - He is full of good sense of humor. And He has a good nature.
  What does your father do?
  - My father runs two big fancy and gift shop.
  What does your mother do?
  - My mother is president of the company.
  Do you have any siblings (brother or sister)?
  - Yes, I have two sisters.

            What does your sister do?
            - One is a Se-Hwa middle school student, the other goes to a happy kids 
           kindergarten.
           How often do you talk to your parents?
           - I talk with my parents once a day about my school life, my friends,  
          my hobby and so on.

 Don't you think you're going to miss them?
 - Of course, I will miss them, but I'll have to get over it.
      My parents want me to succeed in my life. " No pains, No gains."

  How many states are there in America?
  - I think there are 50 states in America.
  What is the largest state in America?
   - I guess Alaska is the largest of all.
  What is the capital city of the USA?
  - Washington D.C. is the capital of America.
  What is the largest city in America?
  - I think New York. (big apple)
  What is the second largest city in America?
  - I guess L.A. (I have no idea.)
 Have you ever been (visited) to America?
 - Yes, I have.
 What part of the States have you been to?
 - I've been to San Francisco, L.A., Las Vegas.
 Do you have any relatives in America?
 - No, I don't have anyone there.
 What else countries have you been to?
 - I've been to Japan when I was young.
 Anything impressive you've felt there?
 - I saw different temples in Japan from that of Korea. It was very impressive.
 What part of the Japan have you been to?
 - I've been to Tokyo, Fukuoka, and so on.　

 10.  Interest in studies subject/academic background 

  What is your favorite subject at your school?
  - My favorite subject is mathematics.
  Why do you like ---? = What is the reason you like ---?
  - I feel so good when I solve the difficult problem.
  What is the subject you don't like?
  - I don't like Chinese character.
  What is the subject that gives you any difficulty?
  - It's so difficult to memorize.
  What is the subject that got the highest (mark) recently?
  - It is a social science.
 What is the subject that got the lowest recently?
  - It is a Chinese character.　

 11.  Favorite book/sports/music/movie/food/place

 What is your favorite book (music, movie, food, sports, place)?
 - My favorite book is "the last leaf" written by O.Henry. I was moved by its contents.
--- music is "I still believe" sung by Mariah Carey. When I listen to I still believe,
    I can stay calm.
 ---  movie is Shiri. It was very interesting. Shiri is action movie. I like action movie.
     That's why I like shi-ri.
 - I'm not picky about food.
 - I like grand canyon. The scenery was grand and fantastic. I've never seen such
     a great sight.
  What kind of sports do you usually play?
 - I usually play soccer. My position is sweeper.
  Why?
  - It was interesting. And I could cooperate during soccer play.
  - If I come to your school, I'll play soccer.
  Do you want to play it if you come to this school?
  - Yes, I do.
  Do you play any musical instrument?
  - In the pass, I learned how to play the piano for 3 years.
      But, now I can't. And I've also have been learning how to play Drum.
 Who do you like the most among movie stars?
 - My favorite movie stat is Bruce Willis.
 Why do you like---?
 - He is very funny and his performance is good.

  - My parents will finance my stay in America.

  - I will stay as long as possible. At least 7 years.

  Do you have good habit? What is it all about?
  - Yes, I have. I read newspaper everyday.
 Why?
 - Because, I want to get information from newspapers.
 Do you have bad habit? What is that about?
 - Yes, I have bad habit. I bite my fingernails.
 Why? 
 -  When I am nervous.
 How would kick your bad habit? By staying calm.
 - I want to kick this bad habit.

 - Yes, I want to kick my bad habit.

 15.  Leadership / Dilemma/Problem solving

 Have you ever exercised leadership in school?
 - I was a class leader when I was in Elementary school. 
   I exercised leadership during that time.
 Have you ever been in dilemma? (=problem, trouble, matter)
 - I was scared when I ran into some bully guys on the street.
 How did you tackle the problem?
 - I just ran away as fast as I could.

 Do you speak English?
 = How well do you speak English?
 = How good is your English?
 - I think that I'm really good at reading and listening, compared to speaking
      and writing. And I can express myself in English.
 How did you learn English?
 - I have learned English from Elementary school, middle school and high school.
 Do you speak any foreign language except English?
 - No, I don't any other foreign language.

 Do you have any religion?
 - Yes, I believe in God.
Any reason to believe in God? (=That¡?s why I believe God?)
 - (I believe in God) because I think that God, exists.

  - I will make friends playing sports game, to join the club activity.
