한결같은 사랑으로 자비를 베풀어 주시는 주님, 오늘도 새날을 새 마음으로 시작하게 하여주시니 감사합니다. 주께서 베푸시는 구원의 기쁨을 회복시켜 주시고, 우리의 입술을 열어 주님을 찬양하는 날이 되게 하여주시옵소서. 주님이 원하시는 것은 천천의 숫양이나 만만의 강물 같은 기름이 아니라, 오직 정의를 행하며 인자를 사랑하며 겸손히 하나님과 함께 행하는 것입니다. 주님, 오늘도 옳은 일을 행하고 사랑을 실천하며 겸손하게 주님과 동행하는 날이 되게 하여주시옵소서.
우슬초로 나를 정결하게 하소서 내가 정하리이다 나의 죄를 씻어 주소서 내가 눈보다 희리이다 내게 즐겁고 기쁜 소리를 들려 주시사 주께서 꺾으신 뼈들도 즐거워하게 하소서 주의 얼굴을 내 죄에서 돌이키시고 내 모든 죄악을 지워 주소서 하나님이여 내 속에 정한 마음을 창조하시고 내 안에 정직한 영을 새롭게 하소서 (시51:7-10)
시편에는 ‘참회시’ 또는 ‘회개시’라고 불리는 것이 모두 7개가 있습니다. 그 중에서 가장 대표적인 것이 51편입니다. 51편의 표제어는 ‘다윗의 시, 인도자를 따라 부르는 노래, 다윗이 밧세바와 동침한 후 선지자 나단이 그에게 왔을 때’입니다. 이 시편은 다윗의 가장 치명적인 죄였던 ‘밧세바 사건’과 관련이 있습니다. 진정한 참회는 하나님의 임재를 의식하는데서 시작되는 것입니다. 참회는 과거를 뉘우치고 동일한 죄를 미래에는 되풀이하지 않겠다는 고백입니다. 후회는 과거지향적인 단어이고 회개는 미래지향적인 단어입니다.

Lord, who shows mercy with unwavering love, thank you for starting a new day with a new heart today. Restore the joy of your salvation, and open our lips to praise You. What the Lord wants is not oil like a thousand rams or ten thousand rivers of oil, but to do justice, to love kindness, and to walk humbly with God. Lord, make today a day to do what is right, to practice love, and to walk humbly with you.
Purify me with hyssop, and I will be clean. Wash me from my sins, and I will be whiter than snow. Give me joy and gladness, and let the bones that You break rejoice. Turn Your face from my sins, and take away all my iniquities. Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew in me an upright spirit (Psalm 51:7-10)
There are a total of seven Psalms called 'Psalms of Penance' or 'Psalms of Repentance'. Among them, 51 is the most representative. The headline for Psalm 51 is “A psalm of David, a song sung by the leader, when David the prophet Nathan came to him after he slept with Bathsheba.” This psalm is related to David's deadliest sin, the Bathsheba incident. True repentance begins with being conscious of God's presence. Confession is a confession of repenting of the past and not repeating the same sin in the future. Regret is a forward-looking word and repentance is a forward-looking word.
