聖經은 교회에서 인정한 신구약 성경 전체이다.
성경은 계시된 교의의 원천이며
신앙의 원리를 가르치는 하느님의 말씀으로 가톨릭 교회에서는 구약 46권, 신약 27권, 합계 73권을 경전으로 인정(개신교에서는 구약 39권, 신약 27권, 합계 66권)하고 있다.
구약에는 율법서,역사서, 시가서, 예언서로 되어 있고
신약에는 복음서, 역사서, 서신서, 예언서로 되어 있다.
10계명
1. 한 분이신 하느님을 흠숭하라.
You shall not have other gods besides me.
2. 하느님의 이름을 함부로 부르지 마라.
You shall not take the name of the Lord, your God, in vain.
3. 주일을 거룩히 지내라.
Remember to keep holy the sabbath day.
4. 부모에게 효도하라.
Honor your father and your mother.
5. 사람을 죽이지 마라.
You shall not kill.
6. 간음하지 마라.
You shall not commit adultery.
7. 도둑질하지 마라.
You shall not steal.
8. 거짓 증언을 하지 마라.
You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.
9. You shall not covet your neighbor's wife.
10. 남의 재물을 탐내지 마라.
You shall not covet anything else that belongs to your neighbor.
