Did you hear that?

오늘의 문법 - 과거의문문

Do you do it? 하면 (너 그거 하니?)
- 과거를 물으면 : Did you do it? (너 그거 했니?)

Did you hear that? (그거(얘기) 들었어요?)
(Q) "들었어? 들렸냐?" 인데, 왜 과거형 heard를 안쓰고,
hear를 쓸까요?
= 앞에 Did 라는 과거형을 써서 물어보기 때문에,
굳이 heard 과거형을 쓸 필요가 없다. 원형으로 hear를 써주면 된다.

- Did you see that? (그거 봤니?)
- Did you know that? (그거 알고있어?)
- Did you say that? (그거 얘기했어?)

대답은?
: did로 물어보니까 did로 답한다.
- Yes, I did.
- No, I didn't.

다른 의문사들을 앞에 붙여서 좀 더 구체적인 질문을 할 수도 있다.
- When did you know that? (언제 그거 알았어?)
- How did you know that? (어떻게 그거 알았어?)
- Where did you do that? (어디서 했니?)
- Why did you do that? (그거 왜 했어?)
- When did you see that? (그거 언제 봤어?)
What did you do? (뭐 했어?)
; 여기서는 that이 빠져야 옳은 문장.

Didn't know that? (그거 몰랐어?)
- Didn't see that? (그거 못 봤니?)
- Didn't say that? (그거 얘기 안했어?)

Didn't you ~ ? 에 대한 질문의 대답은 어떻게 하나?
: Didn't you know that? (그거 몰랐니?)
우리말로 해석해서 대답하려면 무지 헷갈리지만,
영어는 단순하게 대답하면 된다.
Did you hear that? (얘기 들었어요?)
- (들었으면) Yes.
Didn't you hear that? (얘기 못 들었냐?)
- (부정의문으로 물었어도 들었으면) Yes.
You didn't hear that? (너 못 들었지?)
- (들었으면) Yes.
