사람의 진실함은 어려움 속에서 확인됩니다. 예수님은 잡혀가시고 제자들은 도망갔습니다. 왜 제자들은 예수님의 거듭된 경고에도 속절없이 무너졌을까? 우리가 그들과 다르다고 장담하기는 쉽지 않지만, 어떻게 하면 세상 속에서 비른 성도로 잘 견디고 서 있을 수 있을까? 공주야! 예수님은 작정하신 대로 십자가의 죽음을 향해 가신다. 그러나 예수님은 자신의 힘으로는 절대로 그 길을 가실 수 없었다. 그래서 감람산으로 기도하려고 가신다. 제자는 그 주님의 길을 따르는 사람들이다. 그렇다면 우리도 기도 없이 십자가의 길을 갈 수 없지 않겠는가?
Man's integrity is confirmed through difficulties. Jesus was taken away and his disciples ran away. Why did the disciples collapse without hesitation despite Jesus' repeated warnings? 예수님은 제자들과 함께 평소 즐겨 찾으시던 감람산으로 가셨다. 그것은 익숙한 곳이지만 더는 안전한 곳이 아니다. 가룟 유다의 밀고로 쉽게 체포 될 수 있는 곳이 되어버렸다. 그걸 다 알면서도 가셨다. 지금은 잡힐 때 임을 아셨기 때문이다. 예수님은 이제 다가올 십자가를 외면하지 않으셨고, 아버지의 뜻을 수용하고 순종하기 위해 기도하신다. 기도의 자리는 아버지 와의 교제 안에서
쉼을 누리는 ‘안식처’이며, 아버지의 뜻에 자신의 뜻을 복종시키는 치열한 ‘격전지’다.
Jesus and his disciples went to Mount Gamram, his favorite place. It is a familiar place, but it is no longer safe. With the push of Judah, it became an easy place to be arrested. He left even though he knew it. Because he knew it was time to be caught now. Jesus did not turn a blind eye to the upcoming cross, and he prays to accept and obey his father's will. The place of prayer is a 'resting place' where he rests in companionship with his father, and a fierce 'fight' place where he obeys his will to his father's will.-
사명과 순종은 ‘성실한 기도’로만 감당할 수 있다. 주를 부인하지 않겠다며 큰소리치는 제자들을 ‘기도의 자리’로 데려 가신다.
영적 위기 앞에서 그들에게 필요한 것은 ‘검’이 아니라 ‘기도’이고 ‘과신’이 아니라 ‘믿음’이다. 기도에 실패한 제자들은 엄습한 슬픔을 이겨낼 수 없었고 다가온 시험을 이길 수 없었다. 제자들은 세상적인 무기와 혈기로 대처했다. 그러니 검으로는 자신을 지킬 수도 없고 하나님 나라를 세울 수도 없다. 꾸준한 기도, 깨어있는 기도, 간절한 기도만이 시험과 유혹을 이길 수 있는 길이다.
Mission and obedience can only be achieved through "faithful prayer." He takes his disciples who boast that he will not deny the Lord to the "place of prayer." In the face of a spiritual crisis, what they need is not 'sword', but 'prayer', and not 'overconfidence', but 'belief'. The disciples, who failed to pray, could not overcome the crushing sadness and could not beat the examination that came. The disciples dealt with the world's weapons and feistiness. So you cannot protect yourself with a sword or build a kingdom of God. Only constant prayers, waking prayers, and earnest prayers are the way to overcome the test and temptation.

내가 죽어야 내 안에서 주께서 사시고, 그분이 역사하시게 할 수 있다. 그 비밀이 바로 기도다. 예수님은 피할 길을 구하지 않고 십자가를 감당할 수 있는 능력을 구하셨고, 하나님은 그런 아들을 도우셨다. 기도는 자신의 뜻을 관철시키려는 ‘고집’이 아니라 아버지 뜻을 수용하려는 ‘순종’이다. 예수님은 기도하신 대로 몸소 순종하셨다. 유다를 앞세워 찾아온 악한 무리에게 순순히 붙잡혀 가셨다. 저항하지도 위협하지도 않으셨다. 검을 쓰며 저항하는 제자들에게 참으라고 꾸짖으셨다.
Only when I die can the Lord live in me and let him make history. The secret is prayer. Jesus asked for the ability to handle the cross without finding a way to escape, and God helped such a son. Prayer is not an 'obsession' to fulfill one's will, but an 'obedience' to accept one's father's will. Jesus personally obeyed as he prayed. He was captured by a group of evil men who came with Judah. He did not resist or threaten. He scolded his defiant disciples to endure using a sword.

예수님은 위협에 ‘굴복’하신 것이 아니라, 아버지의 뜻에 ‘순종’하신 것이다. '아버지의 뜻을 묻는 기도'와 '그 뜻대로 사는 순종'이 어우러진 신앙의 삶을 보여주셨다. 기도가 있었기에 순종이 가능했고, 기도하는 사람 만이 진정으로 용기 있는 사람이 될 수 있다는 것을 보여주셨다. 왜 우리는 기도 없이 주님을 따를 수 없는가?
Jesus did not 'subjugate' to the threat, but 'subordinate' to his father's will. He showed a life of faith that combines 'prayer asking the will of the father' and ' obedience to live according to his will'. Because of prayer, obedience was possible, and he showed that only those who pray can be truly courageous. Why can't we follow the Lord without prayer?

하나님의 뜻에 굴복하신 예수님께 감사드립니다. 죄악의 세상에서 결연한 신앙을 유지하는 비결을 가르쳐 주소서. 기도란 유혹을 이기고 하나님의 뜻에 나를 굴복 시킴으로 어둠 권세를 이기는 능력입니다. 사랑하시는 주님, 어설프지만 30년을 당신께 순정을 바쳤나이다. 이제 내게 남은 것은 오직 존재의 이유 뿐 일 진데 주님 내 정체성이 뒤흔들리고 있사오니 어찌하오리까? 오, 주님, 내가 욕망을 버리고 당신의 뜻에 굴복하겠사오니 저를 도와주옵소서.
Thank you Jesus for giving in to God's will. Let me teach you the secret to maintaining a determined faith in a world of sin. Prayer is the ability to overcome temptation and the dark power by giving me to God's will. My beloved Lord, I have devoted 30 years of pureness to you. Now all I have left is the reason for existence, but what do I do when my identity is shaking? Oh, Lord, help me because I will give up my desire and give in to your will.
