The veteran guard sat out last night's game with recurring pain in his right knee and admitted that he could be finished for the season. "I don't know," Francis said. "I don't want to say something that isn't there, but I'm not sure. I'm not (ruling that out). I've just got to be smart. I can't really make a decision in one day." The uncertainty of Francis' status comes just days after the Knicks were unable to move Francis before Thursday's trading deadline. When Francis left the team for four weeks earlier this season to rehab in Houston, he and the Knicks had talks about a potential buyout. There is a chance that those talks could resume. Francis hasn't played since being benched for the second half of Wednesday's loss in Philadelphia. "I guess that was the way the game was going," he said. "When I was out there, we were up, but when I came out, we were down. That's when the lead kind of went a different way. I wasn't that mad." When asked about his frustration level, Francis said: "What's it called, the terrorist alert, when they say the security alert is like orange? That's what my frustration is now." [READ] | |

 Ohio State took over the No. 1 spot in the AP college basketball poll Monday, the first time the Buckeyes have held the top ranking since 1962 when they were led by Jerry Lucas and John Havlicek. Led by freshmen Greg Oden and Mike Conley Jr., Ohio State advanced one day after beating Wisconsin in a meeting of Nos. 1 and 2. "You hate there had to be a team that lost that game," Buckeyes coach Thad Matta said Monday, referring to his team's 49-48 victory that clinched a second straight Big Ten title. "Fortunately for us we made the bucket at the end and came away on top." Ohio State moved up one spot in the rankings, receiving 62 first-place votes and 1,786 points from the 72-member national media panel. Ilgauskas missed four games, a stretch that began before the All-Star break. His wife, Jennifer, began having problems after Cleveland played the Los Angeles Lakers on Feb. 11. She was about five months' pregnant at the time, and delivered a stillborn boy and girl on Feb. 14, Ilgauskas said. "Neither one of them survived, so obviously, I just had to take some time for myself to take care of things," Ilgauskas said softly before the Cavaliers lost 86-81 to Miami on Sunday. Jackson termed the move ``precautionary,'' and the team said it would not release a definitive diagnosis until today. Jackson said he has dealt with pain on the bottom of his foot for a couple of years, but it worsened significantly after a Laker, possibly 275-pound center Andrew Bynum, landed on him during the second half. ``Today I got it stepped on, and the pain got to the point where it was too much to bear, so I wanted to get it X-rayed and see what the problem was,'' Jackson said. ``My big toe is just real bruised, and I just want to make sure it's a bruise and nothing else.'' ``It would be tough'' if Jackson is sidelined, Warriors guard Jason Richardson said. ``Steve is a guy who scores for us, does a lot of things.
