Brooklyn Nets guard Kyrie Irving is excited that New York City has lifted their vaccine requirements for home performers. Not only does that enable Irving to play home games this, but it paves the way for him to feel good about re-signing with the Nets this offseason.
“I think for me, it has always been about being comfortable, loving where I’m at, and I love it here,” said Irving. “Once that summertime hits, I know we’ll have some conversations. But there’s no way I can leave my man Number 7 anywhere."
Number 7 refers to Nets forward Kevin Durant. Irving and Durant famously decided to team up in Brooklyn in the 2019 offseason. Durant missed the entirety of that season, while Irving appeared in only 20 games.
On being able to play in home games, Irving said “Please take my comment serious when I say I’ve been pinching myself since Wednesday and Thursday, because there was a time where I got my hopes really, really high and all the air was just let out.
“It’s just a level of disappointment, and I didn’t want to get too excited. And still I’m trying to focus on this game. But I know (Sunday's home game) will eventually come, and I’m looking forward to the opportunity to be playing back in Brooklyn.”
Josh Giddey Ruled Out For Remainder Of Season

Oklahoma City Thunder rookie Josh Giddey has been ruled out for the remainder of the season due to hip soreness. Giddey's initial campaign ends after 54 games.
The six-foot-eight guard hasn't played since February 24. Giddey was initially day-to-day with the sore hip, but the Thunder opted to shut down their prized rookie.
Giddey started in all 54 games he played. He averaged 12.5 points, 7.8 rebounds and 6.4 assists. The sixth pick in the 2021 NBA Draft had four triple-doubles as a rookie.
Raptors Sign Armoni Brooks To Multi-Year Contract

The Toronto Raptors have filled their open roster spot by signing Armoni Brooks to a multi-year deal. Brooks recently completed two 10-day contracts with Toronto.
During his 10-day deals with the Raptors, Brooks appeared in eight games. He previously played in 41 games with the Houston Rockets.
The second year of Brooks' deal is reportedly partially guaranteed.
Though he's struggled some in the NBA, Brooks has been a sharpshooter in two years in the G League. Brooks has shot 39.2% on 6.9 three-point attempts per game in 60 G League contests.

LSU sophomore Tari Eason will declare as an Early Entry Candidate for the 2022 NBA Draft. Eason is projected to be a lottery pick in June's draft.
In his first season at LSU, after transferring from Cincinnati, Eason averaged 16.9 points, 6.6 rebounds, 1.9 steals and 1.2 blocks in 24.4 minutes per game. The six-foot-eight forward was one of college basketball's most improved players this season.
Eason was named to the All-SEC first team, as well as earning SEC Sixth Man of the Year honors.
James Wiseman Shut Down For Remainder Of Season

Golden State Warriors center James Wiseman has been shut down for the remainder of the season. This mean Wiseman will miss the entirety of the 2021-22 league year. In his first two seasons, the Memphis product will have appeared in only 29 of a possible 154 games.
Wiseman originally had surgery for a torn meniscus in April of 2021. Wiseman then had a second procedure in December to clean up loose bodies from the original surgery.
In early-March, Wiseman played in three G League games for the Santa Cruz Warriors. He played more than 20 minutes in each contest. But before his scheduled fourth G League game, Wiseman suffered swelling in his surgically repaired knee.
Golden State coach Steve Kerr said Wiseman's "long-term health looks good. Knee looks sound. It's just a decision we feel makes the most sense for his own best interest."
Hamidou Diallo Out For Remainder Of Season

Detroit Pistons wing Hamidou Diallo will miss the remainder of the 2021-22 season. Diallo is out due to a left index finger avulsion fracture.
Diallo was injured in a game against the Chicago Bulls on March 9. His season will end after 58 games. In those 58 games (29 starts), Diallo averaged 11 points on career-best 49.6% shooting and 4.8 rebounds per contest.
The Pistons hold a team option for Diallo for the 2022-23 season. If Detroit declines that option, Diallo will become an unrestricted free agent.
Udoka Azubuike To Miss Remainder Of Season

Utah Jazz center Udoka Azubuike will miss the remainder of the 2021-22 season following surgery on his right ankle and foot. Azubuike had surgery to repair multiple ankle and foot ligaments in his right foot to stabilize the subtalar joint.
The former 27th pick in the 2020 NBA Draft has appeared in just 32 games in two seasons. Azubuike rarely played behind Rudy Gobert and Derrick Favors as a rookie last season. This year, the seven-footer appeared in 17 games behind Gobert and Hassan Whiteside.
Azubuike showed signs of improvement, as he started six games in his sophomore season. The 22-year-old center averaged 4.7 points and 4.2 rebounds in 11.5 minutes per game.
