James Harden will not be in attendance at Philadelphia 76ers Media Day on Monday. Harden remains upset that the organization has not traded him. It's unknown if Harden plans on missing practices when training camp begins later this week in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
Harden believes that Sixers president of basketball operations Daryl Morey has failed to deliver on a promise to trade him. Harden's preferred destination is to the LA Clippers, and he opted into this season's contract to facilitate a trade. Harden has gone on record calling Morey a "liar" for not following through on a trade.

The Portland Trail Blazers moved fairly quickly in rerouting Jrue Holiday in a trade to the Boston Celtics after acquiring him last week from the Milwaukee Bucks. The Celtics traded two rotation players in Malcolm Brogdon and Robert Williams along with two future first round picks to acquire Holiday, which speaks to the type of trade market he had.
The Celtics were joined by the Miami Heat and Los Angeles Clippers as the three teams who reportedly were in on Holiday until the end.
"I'm not sure exactly where are the offers were at the end for the Blazers before they decided on the Celtics' offer, but based on my conversations, my feel was there was at least three teams who were making significant bids." said Brian Windhorst on his podcast. "The reason it was three and the teams I really think were there in the end were the Celtics, Heat and the Clippers. The reason I think those three teams were there because I think those were the three teams Jrue Holiday was really focused on at some point being able to sign a longer term contract for. And that message kind of went out in recent days. Other teams made offers but it was sort of a three-team, aggressive race at the end.
"Only the Blazers know exactly what the offers were."

The Philadelphia 76ers do not currently have "traction" with the Los Angeles Clippers or any other team on a trade, sources tell Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.
Harden skipped media day with the Sixers on Monday as he continues to seek a trade this offseason after opting into the final season of his contract. Harden remains upset with the Sixers for not moving him to the Clippers.
The Sixers spoke recently with the Clippers on a trade, but those talks appear to remain at the same place they have been throughout the offseason.
"In terms of a trade, I will continue to work on those fronts and, if he's here, then coach will work with him on the court," said Daryl Morey. "I think it's pretty straight forward."
Morey also said Harden will be traded "like every other player under the rules of the CBA."

Kawhi Leonard said the NBA's player participation policy will not influence how he approaches whether or not he plays in games. Leonard is coming off a meniscus tear in his right knee suffered in the first round of the playoffs in April. Leonard also tore his right ACL during the 2021 playoffs.
"I'm not a guy that's sitting down because I'm doing load management -- well, when I was with the Raptors, it was different; like, I was coming [off] an injury," Leonard said. "And you have to know the details from the doctor.
"But if the league is seeing or trying to mock what I did with the Raptors, they should stop because I was injured during that whole year. But other than that, if I'm able to play, I'll play basketball. I work out every day in the summertime to play the game. So, no league policy is helping me to play more games."
Regarding the new policy, Ty Lue said, "If our players are healthy, they're going to play. I know there's a big thing, like, our guys don't like to play or whatever, but that's not true. Our guys want to play. Unfortunately, they've had injuries... So, if our guys are healthy, they're going to play, and that's all we're really focused on."

The Philadelphia 76ers have paid James Harden the 25 percent of his 23-24 contract he was scheduled to receive by Sunday, sources told Tim MacMahon of ESPN.
The Sixers made the payment to Harden on Friday. Philadelphia previously paid Harden his initial 25 percent payment on July 1st.
Harden did not attend media day with the Sixers on Monday and was not on their team plane to their training camp in Colorado Springs as he continues to seek a trade.

Ja Morant will be allowed to practice and travel with the Memphis Grizzlies while serving his 25-game suspension for conduct detrimental to the league.
"I think it's great for Ja, and I think it's great for the group that he can be with us day to day," Grizzlies general manager Zach Kleiman said during the team's media day Monday. "The NBA basically has said that as long as Ja continues to stay on track, he's going to be clear to participate in all private team activities, so practices, shootarounds, traveling with the team. He's not going to be with us obviously for preseason games and the first 25, but we'll see him out there and we can't wait to have him back Game 26."
Morant was suspended for posing with a handgun in a live-streamed video on May 13, less than two months after he was suspended eight games for displaying a handgun in an intoxicated state on a live-steamed video from a Denver nightclub.
Morant is entering the first year of a five-year, $197 million maximum contract.
Kleiman declined to say whether the Grizzlies would take any extra measures to attempt to help Morant avoid another incident at a nightclub, saying he intends to keep those discussions "internal."
"I would again just say I think he's taken meaningful, positive, healthy steps in the right direction," Kleiman said. "We're going to continue to give him the structure to be able to follow through on that."
