Darvin Ham Assured By Jeanie Buss, Rob Pelinka Job Not In Jeopardy

Darvin Ham has been informed by Jeanie Buss and Rob Pelinka that his job as head coach of the Los Angeles Lakers is not in jeopardy, sources tell Chris Haynes of Bleacher Report.
The Lakers have lost 11 of its last 16 games.
"I speak to Rob every day and we're always discussing ways to improve our team and what we can do better as a coaching staff," Ham told B/R after falling to 19-20 on the season. "It's an open dialogue that I embrace and that is helpful. We're all trying to get this right and we will."
A report from The Athletic last week suggested there was a disconnect between Ham and some of the players on the Lakers.
"I had like 50 texts when I checked my phone that day. I'm not on social media, so I don't know what people are saying. But I'm getting text messages saying, 'Hang in there. Are you OK? It's going to be OK. I'm here for you.' I thought somebody died," said Ham. "That was my initial reaction. Then someone sent me story with some unnamed sources and I was like, 'This shit?' Everything is going to be alright. We've got a good team. We just got more work to do."

The Charlotte Hornets have had a rough season. Injuries have played a big part in the team's 8-27 record. However, some good news has come on that front.
LaMelo Ball could return Friday from what has been a 20-game absence due to a severely sprained ankle. Ball was injured on November 26 and has missed a month-and-a-half of action.
Ball has been upgraded to questionable for Friday's game at the San Antonio Spurs. The Hornets also upgraded Frank Ntilikina to questionable as well. Ntilikina has missed the entire season to date, after suffering a fractured leg in the preseason.

While the Los Angeles Clippers made a major trade early in the season for James Harden, they are continuing to scour the market for another move.
Sources tell Zach Lowe that they are looking on "the trade market for one last player... likely a tweeter forward or backup center."
The Clippers can trade one first round pick and could create matching salary in the form of P.J. Tucker.
