On NBA Today on ESPN, Adrian Wojnarowski gave some insight into where things stand for Pascal Siakam and the Toronto Raptors. Siakam is considered to be one of the highest-profile players available via trade ahead of the February 8 trade deadline.
Siakam and the Raptors are "nowhere close" in extension talks, according to Wojnarowski. That has Toronto gauging his value on the trade market. However, because he's a pending free agent, Siakam will have some say in where he plays next.
The Golden State Warriors are interested, but are cautious of giving Siakam a max deal due to their mounting payroll.
The Indiana Pacers are also interested in adding Siakam. However, the Raptors want prized young players like Bennedict Mathurin and/or Jarace Walker from the Pacers via trade. Indiana could loom as a threat to sign Siakam in free agency, should they go the cap space route.

In an appearance on the Locked On Mavericks podcast, Jake Fischer of Yahoo Sports discussed the Dallas Mavericks interest in Pascal Siakam. The Mavs are one of the teams rumored to have interest in the Toronto Raptors forward.
Fischer reported that some in Dallas see Siakam as the "missing piece" to being a title contender. Others with the Mavericks fear what it could cost to trade for the Raptors forward and are wary of what happens as Siakam ages.
Siakam has a $37.9 million expiring contract this summer. He's reportedly let it be known that he'll only consider re-signing with certain teams when he's a free agent this coming summer.

LeBron James will miss the Los Angeles Lakers game at the Utah Jazz on Saturday due to a left ankle injury. The Lakers say James is suffering from left ankle peroneal tendinopathy.
To this point, James has played in 36 of the Lakers first 39 games this season. This is after the star forward missed 27, 26 and 27 games over the past three seasons for Los Angeles.
The Lakers go into Saturday night's game a half-game behind the Jazz for the final spot in the Western Conference Play-In Tournament.

The Charlotte Hornets have made wing Gordon Hayward available via trade. There's a possibility Hayward gets moved, as he on an expiring $31.5 million contract.
Teams are also monitoring Hayward as a possible buyout candidate. Because Hayward makes more than the Non-Taxpayer Mid-Level Exception, teams that are above the tax apron are restricted from signing him. This change went into effect with the new Collective Bargaining Agreement. Teams that are currently over the tax apron include the Boston Celtics, Denver Nuggets, Golden State Warriors, LA Clippers, Miami Heat, Milwaukee Bucks and Phoenix Suns.

ESPN NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski gave an update on NBA Today on the trade available of Atlanta Hawks guard Dejounte Murray. Wojnarowski says it is "very, very likely" that Murray will be traded ahead of the February 8 trade deadline.
The Los Angeles Lakers are known to be interested in trading for the veteran guard. Wojnarowski says the Lakers would "almost assuredly" have to send the Hawks a first-round pick in any deal for Murray. Other teams that have been mentioned in having interest in Murray include the New York Knicks, San Antonio Spurs, Miami Heat, Philadelphia 76ers and Detroit Pistons.
Murray's salary for this season is $18.2 million. That will jump to $25.5 million next season in the first year of a four-year, $114 million extension.

The hits keep coming for the Memphis Grizzlies. After losing Ja Morant for the season early in the week, Memphis lost Marcus Smart to a long-term finger injury. If that wasn't enough, Desmond Bane and Jaren Jackson Jr. both picked up injuries in the Grizzlies loss to the LA Clippers on Friday.
That left Memphis with just nine healthy players for their game on Saturday against the New York Knicks. Unfortunately, Jake LaRavia left that game with an injury after playing only 1:19.
The Grizzlies are now down to eight healthy players: Jacob Gilyard, G.G. Jackson, Luke Kennard, John Konchar, David Roddy, Xavier Tillman Sr., Ziaire Williams and Vince Williams Jr.
Memphis next plays on Monday, when they host the Golden State Warriors.

Sources add that the Lakers could possibly trade for Dejounte Murray should they include Reaves in a deal.
Fischer adds that D'Angelo Russell and his $17 million salary is not viewed as a valuable trade piece.

The Sacramento Kings have shown zero interest in discussing Keegan Murray in trade scenarios, sources tell Zach Lowe of ESPN.
Murray is averaging 19.2 points on 53 percent shooting from the floor and 45 percent on three-pointers over the past month.
Murray is only in Year 2 of his rookie deal, giving the Kings an affordable cornerstone with considerable remaining upside. Murray is also versatile positionally with his ability to defend four positions.
The Kings selected Murray with the fourth overall pick in 2022.
