Duke freshman Cooper Flagg has signed a significant shoe endorsement deal with New Balance. Flagg is widely expected to be the first overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft.
Flagg reclassified to graduate a year early from Montverde Academy. He'll join the Blue Devils for his freshman year this season.
This summer, Flagg impressed in practices and scrimmages against Team USA. The 6-foot-9 forward was part of the USA Select Team that helped Team USA prepare for the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Chicago Bulls center Nikola Vucevic met with the media at Goran Dragic's farewell game in Slovenia. One of the topics Vucevic covered is how much longer he plans to play.
"I’m aware that I’ve been in the NBA for 13 years now, that the end is not that far off," Vucevic said. "I don’t believe I’ll play another 13 years, but I have two more years with Chicago, and I’d like to play two more after that… I think I can play at a high level for that long, and then I’ll see."
Near the start of this season, Vucevic will turn 34 years old. The veteran center is owed $41.5 million, fully guaranteed, over the next two seasons with the Bulls.
Vucevic's efficiency slipped last season, as he dropped back below 50% shooting from the field and 30% on three-pointers. That's something Vucevic attributed to injuries and constant trade rumors around the Bulls last season.
Matt Ryan, Pelicans Agree To One-Year Deal

The New Orleans Pelicans have re-signed Matt Ryan on a one-year deal. The Pelicans recently waived Ryan.
Ryan signed a multi-year deal with the Pelicans in April after he was on a Two-Way contract. In 28 games last season with the Pelicans, Ryan averaged 5.4 points and 1.4 reboudns while shooting 45.1 percent on three-pointers.
Ryan was claimed by the Pelicans after he was waived by the Minnesota Timberwolves before the start of the 23-24 season.

The Charlotte Hornets have hired DJ Bakker as head coach of the Greensboro Swarm of the G League.
Bakker was most recently an assistant coach with the Milwaukee Bucks under Adrian Griffin. Bakker also worked under Dwane Casey with the Toronto Raptors and Detroit Pistons.
Bakker was head coach of the Motor City Cruise in 21-22.
Rio Grande Valley Vipers Hire Joseph Blair As Head Coach

The Rio Grande Valley Vipers have hired Joseph Blair as head coach for the 24-25 season. Blair previously was head coach of the Vipers in 18-19 after several seasons as an assistant coach.
Blair was most recently an assistant coach with the Washington Wizards.
The Vipers are the G League affiliate for the Houston Rockets.

The Indiana Pacers have waived Kyle Mangas and Cameron McGriff. The Pacers recently signed both players to Exhibit 10 deals.
Mangas went undrafted in 2021 out of Indiana Wesleyan. Mangas was also in camp with the Pacers last season. In 34 G League games, Mangas averaged 17.9 points, 3.1 rebounds and 3.7 assists in 34.0 minutes.
McGriff went undrafted in 2020 out of Oklahoma State. In 28 G League games last season, McGriff averaged 10.8 points and 4.1 rebounds in 19.7 minutes.
Dakota Mathias Signs Exhibit 10 Deal With Pacers

The Indiana Pacers have signed Dakota Mathias to an Exhibit 10 deal with the Fort Wayne Mad Ants.
Mathias last played in the NBA in 21-22 with the Memphis Grizzlies. Mathias appeared in six games that season with the Grizzlies.
In 31 G League games in 22-23, Mathias averaged 15.6 points, 4.1 rebounds and 2.6 assists in 30.4 minutes.
Mathias appeared in 19 games with Ratiopharm Ulm last season, averaging 13.3 points, 1.8 rebounds and 1.6 assists in 21.7 minutes.

Boban Marjanovic remains unsigned this offseason after spending the past two seasons with the Houston Rockets. Marjanovic continues to hope to remain in the NBA at the age of 36.
“Every time you make plans, it doesn’t work out," said Marjanovic. "Plans always change. Here, I first wanted to come by plane, but we arrived by car. I have no plans. I enjoy every segment of life. I’m waiting for the NBA, but if it doesn’t happen, there is a lot on paper going on. But let’s move on.”
