Emperor E forecasting US$3.8 million loss in 2026, narrowed from last year despite end of satellite casino ops

Hong Kong-listed Emperor E Hotel has issued a profit warning on an expected net loss of HK$30 million (US$3.8 million) for the year ended 31 March 2026, narrowed from a net loss of HK$248 million (US$31.7 million) in the prior 12-month period.
That’s despite its Macau satellite casino, Grand Emperor, ceasing gaming operations in late October as required under the city’s amended gaming law.
In a filing, Emperor E said the narrowed loss was mainly due to the substantial decrease in the fair value loss on investment properties. Final results for the period are expected to be published later this month.
Emperor E confirmed in June 2025 that it had been informed by SJM Resorts, S.A. – under whose concession the Grand Emperor casino operated – that such operations would cease before the end of the year.
In late October, the company added that it had mutually agreed and entered into a termination agreement with Tin Hou Limited – an indirect wholly-owned subsidiary of Emperor Entertainment Hotel Limited – under which Tin Hou would cease to provide casino management services to SJM and Casino Emperor Palace would cease operations as of 30 October 2025.
In February 2026 Emperor E announced a deal to sell 78 gold bricks embedded in the lobby floor of Grand Emperor at a price of HK$99.7 million (US$12.8 million).
The “Golden Avenue” at Grand Emperor had been an iconic location within the hotel, with the company noting the original purpose of creating a “luxurious and magnificent atmosphere” within the casino to enhance the brand image.
It added at the time, “Given that the relevant area is planned to undergo renovation and redevelopment, the Precious Metal that were originally part of the hotel’s interior design and outfits are no longer relevant to the theme of the hotel in the future.”
