Sands China to launch program teaching management to apply AI in the workplace

Sands China has revealed it will introduce an AI program aimed at enhancing management’s ability to apply artificial intelligence in the workplace.
The “Al Up-Skilling Programme” was one of a number of new initiatives unveiled at a two-day talent development showcase being held at The Londoner Macao on 17 and 18 June. The program teaches management how to apply Al and integrate relevant technologies into their work.
Dr Wilfred Wong, Executive Vice Chairman of Sands China Ltd, said, “The majority of Sands China team members are engaged in non-gaming roles, which reflects appropriate economic diversification. But if we want our team members to move forward, we must do so with the latest technology.”
He added that artificial intelligence is extremely important and represents the future of development, joking that, “If any of you understand AI, you are welcome to come to my private office and teach me, because this is the future.”
Sands China’s talent development showcase is being held in collaboration with government departments and higher education institutions. It features around 20 booths and uses videos and other formats to present Sands China’s talent development initiatives.
This year, Sands China has launched four new Elite Development Programs covering a wider range of professional fields. Among them, the “Sands China Hotel Talent Development Program – Head Trainee,” “Sands China Prestige Service Talent Development Program” and “Sands China Western Culinary Elite Program” have already commenced.
The “Sands China Transportation Talent Development – Lead Trainee” program will launch later this year, continuing to nurture high-quality local talent for the industry.
The company has also introduced a range of internationally renowned training platforms and courses. Highlights include the launch of the “Sands China Integrated Resort Leader Development Programme” in collaboration with world-renowned Cornell University and talent assessment provider SHL, helping managers broaden their strategic vision, innovative thinking, decision-making and leadership capabilities.
In addition, Sands will launch a new initiative for the first time, selecting 19 management professionals from various fields within the company and arranging for them to visit higher education institutions in Macau to share industry practices and leadership insights with college students.
