"여보! 제임스! 어디 계세요?"
금방 부드러운 목소리가 들렸다.
"혜정아. 나 여기 있어. 이제 일어나 샤워하고 커피 마시자."
"여보. 여기서 어떻게 샤워를 해요?"

시각은 오후 1시였다. 샤워를 마치고 나니 기분이 상쾌했다. 밖에는 사랑하는 그이가 fox 털이 달리고

생각했다.
백신접종은 순서대로 잘 되었다. 혜정은 차에서 내려 바로 가운을 입고 백신과 필요 물품들을
임시 진료소인 컨테이너로 옮겼다. 물론 헤드무스 청년들이 그 일을 다 했다. 그들은 혜정이를
깍듯이 의사 선생님으로 모시며, 존경하며 순종하였다. 접종하는 사이 내가 밖에 나가보니
밖에서는 접종을 마친 사람들이 밖으로 나와 임시 천막안으로 가서 뜨거운 라면을 훌훌 불며
먹고 있었다. 다니엘과 그의 와이프 메리와 그의 딸 엘리사가 잘 하고 있었다. 아마도 완전하게
접종을 끝내자면 3딜 정도가 필요할 것이다. 그 사이 라벤 마을에서도 60~70명 정도가 올 것이고.
하루에 40 내지 45명 정도 밖에는 더 빠르게 할 수 없었다. 나는 다니엘에게 투앙카 카타와의
일을 이야기했다. 그리고 3일 후 2회에 나눠서 와서 접종할 수 있다고 전하길 부탁했다.

탄생하여 자란 사람들은 메티(Metis)라고 부른다. 과거에는 분류하여 적대시 하였지만, 최근에는 동일시
되었고 캐나다 정부에서도 원주민으로 인정하고 있다. 이곳 해드무스에도 10여명 무소니에도
천여명 이상 하여 전체 약 5000여명이 무소니와 해드무스 등 인근 지역에 살고 있다.
