2012 Summer School Program

포도나무영어아카데미는 100% 영어 환경속에서 100% 영어로만 수업하는 Learning Center로 미연방정부 교육협의회(SACS), 국제교육협의회(CITA)로 부터 공인받은 SOT( School of Tomorrow)시스템에 따라  운영됩니다. SOT프로그램은 Individualized Education을 기본으로 System화 되어 있어 누구든지 자기레벨에서 맞춤교육을 받을 수 있도록 설계되어 있는 학생 중심의 교육 방법으로 자기 스스로 학습 할 수 있는 능력을 길러주는 미래형 교육입니다. 이번 여름 우리 학생들이 본 프로그램으로 자율 학습 능력을 배양하여 새학기 학교 학습에 자신감을 가지고 임할 수 있는 기회가 되기를 기대합니다. 또한 다양한 Activities를 통하여 즐거운 여름 방학을 보낼 수 있도록 준비되어 있습니다.

기 간  :  6월 25일(월) – 8월 3일(금) *6주 Program

수업 시간 : 오전 9시 부터 오후 3시 까지

수업료 : 13,000원(학비, 점심, 간식, 교통비, 교재비 포함)

  *푸동에서 오는 학생들은 500원 교통비 추가있음.

**Field Trip 경비는 발생 실비에 따라 추가 될 수 있습니다.

*** 5월10일까지 등록 (수업료전액 납부시)하는 경우 10% 할인,

5월31일까지 5%할인 혜택이 있음.

커리큘럼 :

1. Pre-Kindergarten & Kindergarten (1) – Speaking Reinforcement Class

영어를 처음 접하는 어린이들이 재미있고 자연스럽게 영어를 알아듣고 말 할수 있도록 School of Tomorrow교육 전문가들에 의하여 개발된 ESL 프로그램 This program is designed by “School of Tomorrow’s Educators” for preschoolers who do not speak English as his/her first language to become acquainted with spoken English. They will be introduced to creative, fun approaches to mainly speaking and listening. They will learn alphabets with “Large Animal Sound Display Cards” and phonics with “Song CD to reinforce phonetic sounds and encourage motor coordination”. In addition, they have a chance to recognize number with “Number Train Cards”. The students will also engage in group games and activities, as well as enjoy field trips to museum and historic sites in Shanghai. Class: limited to 15 students per class

2. Pre-Kindergarten & Kindergarten (2) – Phonics Reinforcement & Reading Readiness Class

말하고 듣기가 어느정도 가능한 어린이들이 다양한 활동과 12권의 Work Book을 통하여 알파벳이 가진 35개의 소리를 배우는 Multisensory Phonics Program This program features a complete scope and sequence of concepts and skills needed to prepare children to read. It provides the children to learn phonics which is a tool all children need throughout their education training. This is a multisensory, phonetic program. A child becomes acquainted with phonics through animals, songs, and stories. These features help him learn letter sounds, alphabet sequence, and word relationships. Various activities have been designed to help each student in his physical and character development. The students will also engage in group games and activities, as well as enjoy field trips to museum and historic sites in Shanghai. Class: limited to 15 students per class

3. Grade 1 to 2 – Accelerated Program (Intensive English Program)

School of Tomorrow에서 개발된 미국 정규 학교 학습 과정으로 English, Math, Social Studies, Science, Word Building등으로 이루어져 있는 선행 학습 프로그램 This class is advanced enough to include first and second graders. It takes into account the individual skill of each student and is able to match their developments. This program is specially designed to improve ESL students’ English proficiency by intensive English curriculum. The social studies and science are written to build reading skills. These modules provide not only exciting adventures from history and practice lessons in science but also a well-structured, high interest reading vocabulary. In addition, through “Draw & Writing” class, students are able to know how to write simple sentence. Each student can select subject he/she prefer to learn. Class: limited to 15 students per class

4. Grade 3 to 4 – Accelerated Program (Intensive English Class + Advanced Core Subjects)

School of Tomorrow에서 개발된 미국 정규 학교 학습 과정으로 English, Math, Word Building, Super Sentence & Paragraph Writing, Science, Social Studies등의 core subject로 이루어져 있는 초등학생들을 위한 선행 학습 프로그램 This program offers several avenues by which children can learn to increase their reading ability and basic writing skill. Each student reads 5 short stories per week and practices writing with his/her reading story. It is specially designed for vocabulary development, comprehension, and reading mastery. In addition, math program provides mastery of large numbers and facts. Each student learns social studies and science at his/her individual level. Class: limited to 15 students per class

5. Grade 5 to 7 – Accelerated Program ( Fundamental & Writing Enrichment Program + Advanced Math & Social Studies + Science Project)

School of Tomorrow에서 개발된 미국 정규 학교 학습 과정으로 English, Math, Word Building, Literature & Creative Writing, Science, Social Studies등의 core subject로 이루어져 있는 초/중등학생들을 위한 선행 학습 프로그램 In addition to program for G4~5, this class focuses on English literature and creative writing. HiAlso, each student is encouraged to challenge more advanced mathematics and participate in science project. Class: limited to 12 students per class

Diagnostic Test : Level은 Diagnostic Test에 따라 결정되어 자기 레벨에 따라서 수업이

진행되며, 교재준비 및 반 편성을 위하여 Diagnostic Test는 부득이한 경우를 제외하고 5월 31일까지 완료되어야 합니다. (학습레벨평가는 주중 오후 6시까지, 토요일 오후 1시까지).

특별활동 :

 Weekly Theme

각 주마다 주제가 있으며 그 주제에 따라서 Art & Crafts, Creative Writing, Sing a Song, Watching a movie, New vocabulary and Spelling 등을 통하여 여러 영역에서 단어를 확장하고 자연스러운 표현을 말하기와 쓰기에 적용하면서 강화 할 수 있도록 마련되어 있습니다.

Academic Olympics

Spelling Bee Competition : 각 레벨별로 매주 20 - 50개의 새로운 단어들을 암기하고 문장화 시켜나가며 마지막 주에는 Spelling Bee Competition을 통하여 학생들이 여름기간 동안 배우고 익힌 것들을 함께 나누게 됩니다. 각 레벨별로 우승자를 선정하여 트로피를 수여합니다.

The Best Extensive Book Reader :  6주동안 가장 많은 Page의 책을 읽은 학생을 선정하여 트로피를 수여합니다.

Presentation Day

매주 금요일 오후는 Presentation Day 로 학샏들은 각 반별로 주제에 따라서 학습하며 준비한 여러가지 내용들을 다른 친구들 앞에서 발표함으로써  Team Work을 훈련하고 발표력을 높이게 됩니다.

Field Trip

각 레벨별 일정에 따라 한 차례Field Trip을 가며 그곳에서 보고 느낀 것들을 글로 쓰거나 말로 다른 친구들에게 정확하게 전달할 수 있도록 합니다.

Sports Day

6주동안 열심히 공부한 우리 True Vine친구들이 열심히 뛰고, 놀며, 게임할 수 있도록 준비된 Special Sports Day,  비가와도, 바람이 불어도, 아무리 더워도 에어컨 시설이 잘 된 넓고 시원한 실내 체육관에서 이루어 집니다.

Swimming Day

True Vine의 실외 수영장에서 가끔씩 수영을 하면서 신나는 여름을 영어와 함꼐 놀고 공부하게 될 것입니다.

Merit Store

학생들은 6주간 학습태도에 따라서 Merit를 가지게 되며 열심히 모은 Merit로 마지막 파티날 장난감, 학용품, 스넥, 피자, 핫도그등을 구매하는데 사용하게 됩니다.
