敎(교)는 인간이 지켜야할 불변의 도리와 하나님을 모시는 일을 가르침이다.
Teaching(Gyo) means educating people on the immutable duties
they must uphold and the act of serving God.
인간이 가르침이 있으면 모든 행동이 바탕을 얻게되고 가르침이 없다면
아무리 훌륭한 목수라도 먹줄이 없는것과 같아진다.
If humans have teaching all their actions gain a solid foundation; without teaching,
even the most excellent carpenter becomes like one working without a chalk line.

敎는 敎人以倫常道學也라 (교는 교인이륜상도학야라)
Teaching means educatihg people in the immutable human duties(Lunsang)
and the learning of the Divine Way)Dohak).
人이 有敎則百行이 得體하고 (인이 유교즉백행이 득체하고)
If a person receives teaching, all of their various actions will find
their proper form and foundation,
無敎則雖良工이라도 無繩墨이니라. (무교즉수양공이라도 무승묵이니라.)
but if there is no teaching even an excellent artisan will be left
without a guiding chalk line.
* 繩墨(승묵) :건설공사등에서 공사를 위하여 먹줄로서 작업의 기준을 세우는것.
Seung-muk(Chalk Line) : Establishing a standard or reference for work using a chalk
line in construction and engineering projects.
* 道學(도학) : 一神(일신)이 인간이 태어날때 주신 三眞(삼진)인 착하고(善,선), 깨끗하고(淸,청),
厚(후)함으로 性通(성통)을 이루어 一神(일신)의 세계와 하나를 이루려는 학문.
Do-hak(Learning of the Way) : A study aimed at achieving spiritual awakening(Seong-tong)
and becoming one with the realm of the One Supreme God(ll-shin) through the
"Three Truths"(Sam-jin)―goodness, purity, and depth ―endowed by God upon human birth.
* 倫常(윤상) :인간이 지켜야할 불변의 도리.
Yun-sang(Constant Virtues) : The immutable principles and moral duties
that human beings must uphold.
