제 40위 寬遂(관수)......너그러움으로 마침......第142事
No 40 : Gwansu(寬遂,관수)... Concluding with magnaimity / generosity... The 142nd Matter.
寬遂(관수)는 너그러운 때에 비로서 일을 마침을 보이는 것이다.
"Generous Completion (寬遂,관수)" means showing that a task is finally brought
to an end when one′s heart is broad and generous.
사람은 나에게 너그러움이 있으면 편안해하고 나에게 너그러움이 없으면 두려워 한다.
People feel at ease when I am generous toward them,
but they become fearful when I lack generosity.
너그러움이 없으면 나 스스로를 이롭게 하고져 함이며, 너그러움이 있으면 나 스스로에 손상이 있다하니
It is said that a lack of generosity stems from a desire to benefit oneself,
whereas possessing generosity may bring some personal loss or disadvantage.
내가 너그러울때 편안하게 일을 마침을 본다.
Thus, we see that tasks are concluded peacefully only when l maintain a generous mindset.

寬遂者는 寬時而睹遂也라 (관수자는 관시이도수야라)
"Generous Completion" means withessing the fulfillment of a matter when time/ mind is generous.
人이 有我寬則樂하고 (인이 유아관즉락하고)
When people find generosity in me, they feel joyful[at ease].
不寬則憂者는 不寬益我하고 寬妨我者니 (불관즉우자는 불관익아하고 관방아자니)
Those who worry when there is no generosity do so because a lack of generosity benefits me,
While being generous seems to hinder me.
我寬時에 睹其樂遂니라. (아관시는 도기락수니라.)
When I am generous, I witness the joyful completion of things.

내가 마음 편하게 손해를 볼수 있을때 일을 마치는 것이 일을 편안하게 마치는 것이다.
Completing a task when you are content and willing to accept
personal loss―that is what it truly means to conclude a matter peacefully.
