凉怪(양괴)는 가을 바람이 肅殺(숙살)기운을 띄게 될 때 요사스럽고 괴이한 것이 사람을 해치는 것이다.
"Chilly Weirdness(凉怪,양괴)" refers to a sinister and bizarre entity harming people
when the autumn wind takes on a bleak, life-destroying energy(肅殺,숙살).
올바른 마음에는 어긋남이 없고 氣(기)가 깨끗하면 움직임이 없으니
뜻을 바로 잡아 어지러움이 없으면 요사스럽고 괴이한 것이 감히 접근하지 못한다.
Since there is no deviance in a righteous mind and no unstable agitation
when one′s energy(氣,기) is pure, if you straightenyour intent and clear away confusion,
sinister and bizarre things will not dare to approach you.

凉怪者는 秋風肅氣에 妖怪 害人也라 (양괴자는 추풍숙기에 요괴 해인야라)
As for Chilly Weirdness(凉怪,양괴), it is when a sinister monster harms people amidst the bleak,
cold energy of the autumn wind.
正心而無邪하며 氣淸而無動하고 (정심이무사하며 기청이무동하고)
If you correct the mind so there iss no evil,
and keep the energy(氣,기) pure so there is no unstable agitation,
意定而無亂則妖怪가 不敢近이니라. (의정이무난즉요괴가 불감근이니라.)
And if your intent is settled without confusion,
then sinister monsters will not dare to approach.

妖怪(요괴)의 사전적인 의미는 요사한 귀신,도깨비이다.
The dictionary definition of a Yogwai(妖怪,요괴 - Monster / specter)
is a sinister ghost or a goblin(dokkaebi).
움직임이 살아 있는 인간이라면 멈춤은 죽은 인간이다.
If movement represents a living human, then stillness represents a dead human.
귀신이나 도깨비는 죽었으되 모습을 나타내니 멈춤도 아니요 그렇다고 살아 있는 인간도 아니니 움직임도 아니다.
Ghosts or goblins are dead yet manifest themselves,
so they are not in a state of stillness; however, they are not living humans either,
so they are not in a state of movement.
따라서 귀신이나 도깨비는 혼돈이다.
Therefore, ghosts and goblins are a state of chaos.
원래 혼돈이란 시간적으로 찰라 동안 존재한다.
In essence, chaos exists only for a fleeting, momentary flash of time.
달걀 안의 병아리가 언제까지 그 모습으로 머물 수 없는 것과 같다.
It is much like how a chick inside an egg cannot remain in that state forever.
인간은 스스로가 혼돈에 빠지지 않는 한 혼돈이 인간에게 영향을 미치지 못한다.
As long as humans do not fall into chaos themselves,
chaos cannot exert any influence over them.
인간은 심신이 나약할 때 주로 스스로 혼돈 상태가 되며 귀신, 도깨비 같은 혼돈들에게 농락당한다.
Humans typically fall into a state of chaos when their mind and body become weak,
leading them to be manipulated and toyed with by chaotic ebtities like ghosts and goblins.
따라서 마음을 확고히 하고 몸을 기르면 혼돈이 침범할 수 없는 것이다.
Therefore, if you solidify your mind and nurture your physical body,
chaos will never be able to encroach upon you.
