Tzu Chi volunteers hold three distributions in the Philippines providing compassion for quake survivors.
Tzu Chi hospital staff including centenarian Dr. Chen Kuicun received the Medical Excellence Award.
1. 菲千戶發放
I am Sean Scanlan. This is Da Ai Headlines. Multiple earthquakes hit Mindanao Island in Philippines in October with thousands of families to lose their homes. Tzu Chi volunteers spent a week planning distributions which included rice, blankets, and cash.
2. 菲發放志工身影
Successfully completing a distribution for 2,000 families requires the cooperation of many people. Tzu Chi volunteer Nelson Chua, a local businessman, and a team of volunteers took on this job bravely.
3. 緬甸水患後續
Myanmar was plagued with flooding last year with farmers' unable to have a decent harvest. To help, Tzu Chi offered rice seeds and mung beans. Now that it's harvest season, we can see how Tzu Chi's seeds helped these farmers.
4. 珙縣一中簽約
Massive earthquakes struck Sichuan in July this year. The local Gong Xien First Senior Middle School was severely damaged with many students living in temporary tents. Chengdu Tzu Chi volunteers arrived at the school the next day, providing care and help for them. After the evaluation, Tzu Chi decided to build new classrooms for the school.
5. 醫療典範獎
Recently, an award ceremony has been held to recognize outstanding doctors. Centenarian Dr. Chen Kuicun has received Medical Excellence Award. In addition, many other current and former staff of Tzu Chi hopsitals have receved awards. Let's meet these outstanding doctors.

Dharma Master Cheng Yen is now touring around Taiwan, and was recently in Xindian, New Taipei City, meeting volunteers from all over the world who introduced their work in their countries.
7. 美本土受證
In Las Vegas, there are two local volunteers who are being certified as Tzu Chi volunteers this year. John and Peter are two documenting volunteers, in charge of taking photos and film. Since they do not speak much Chinese, they had a hard time undergoing volunteer training. Fortunately, with the encouragement of their wives, they've both persevered and completed their volunteer training.
8. 零廢棄奇蹟(2)採葉樂活老人
A Japanese town in Tokushima Prefecture has just 1,500 residents with the average citizen age being 65 years old. Townspeople are very active in recycling and also sell leaves to upscale restaurants so they don't have time to get sick, making their medical expense the lowest in the prefecture.
