For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye sahll neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

이것들이 너희 안에 있어 풍성하면 그것들이 너희가 우리 주 예수 그리스도를 아는 것에서 빈약하거나 열매를 매지 못하는 자가 되지 아니하게 하려니와 (베드로후서 1:8)

(2486) [영적인 습관을 형성하는 인식의 시기에서 멈추지 말고 더 나아가, 그러한 우리의 영적 행위의 습관이 주님의 삶 속으로 동화되고 녹아들어, 우리 자신이 인식하지 못하고 저절로 행하게 되는 상태에 까지 이르도록 합시다. 왜냐하면 우리 모두는 우리의 삶 속에 더해야만 하는 주님 삶의 모습들을 가지고 있기 때문입니다] When we first begin to form a habit, we are fully aware of it. There are times when we are aware of becoming virtuous and godly, but this awareness should only be a stage we quickly pass through as we grow spiritually. If we stop at this stage, we will develop a sense of spiritual pride. The right thing to do so with godly habits is to immerse them in the life of the Lord until they become such a spontaneous expression‎ of our lives that we are no longer aware of them. Our spiritual life continually causes to focus our attention inwardly for the determined purpose of self-examination, because each of us has some qualities we have not yet added to our lives.

(2487) [당신의 어떤 영적인 행위나 습관이 당신의 신이 될 수 있습니다. 그러한 당신의 행위나 습관이 당신의 신이 되지 않도록 주의하고, 그러한 영적 행위가 원래 의미하고 있는 하나님을 바라보도록 합시다. 나 자신의 영적인 습관이나 행위를 넘어, 주님을 찾고 닮아가고 동행하는 모습들이 나의 삶에 더해지도록 하는 기회를 붙잡아야 합니다] Your god may be your little Christian habit-the habit of prayer or Bible reading at certain times of your day. Watch how your Father will upset your schedule if you begin to worship your habit instead of what the habit symbolizes. We say, "I can't do that right now; this is my time alone with God." No, this is your time alone with your habit. There is a quality that is still lacking in you. Identify your shortcoming and then look for opportunities to work into your life that missing quality.

(2488) [사랑이란 어떤 영적인 행위를 의식하지 않는 상태에서 행하는 것입니다. 당신이 당신의 영적인 거룩함을 의식하고 있다면, 예수님이 당신에게 전혀 제약을 하지 않는 어떤 부분에서 당신은 당신 자신에게 제약을 하고 있는 것입니다. 당신이 어떤 경우에 예수님과 함께하지 않는 시간이 있는가요? 그 어떤 시간을 발견하게 되면, 하나님의 섭리로 인도하시는 대로 따라가 예수님에게까지 자라가고, 예수님의 성정을 따라가고, 그러한 예수님의 마음을 우리에게 더하도록 하여야 합니다.] Love means that there are no visible habits-that your habits are so immersed in the Lord that you practice them without realizing it. If you are consciously aware of your own holiness, you place limitations on yourself from doing certain things-things God is not restricting you from at all. This means there is a missing quality that needs to be added to your life.

(2489) [당신이 주님과 함께하는 시간이 당신의 QT 시간이나 기도 시간을 지키는 습관보다 더 중요합니다. 주님과 함께하며 주님을 닮아가는 삶을 살 때 당신의 삶은 어린아이의 삶처럼 단순하게 될 것입니다.] The only supernatural life is the life the Lord Jesus lived, and He was at home with God anywhere. Is there someplace where you are not at home with God? Then allow God to work through whatever that particular circumstance may be until you increase in Him, adding His qualities. Your life will then become the simple life of a child.

󰁨 The book of Acts describes the faithful witness of Peter, John, Barnabas, Paul, Dorcas, Lydia, and many others during the early days of the church. These ordinary people depended on God to give them strength as they spread His Word and demonstrated His love.

󰁨 That story continues through us. As we trust God and obey His direction to make Jesus known, He writes through us new pages in His story of redemption.

󰁨 People know true faith stories

when they see them.

사람들은 진실한 믿음의 이야기들을 알아본다.

󰁨 When we face desperate circumstances, we tend to look to other people for guidance and comfort. They are in the same boat, however—lost in an ocean of life’s ups and downs. Only God is outside the boat, sovereign, stable, and strong enough to calm the storms (vv.24-25,29). Facing trouble? Call on Him!

󰁨 We worship a God who is greater

than our greatest problem.

󰁨 [구원은 하나님의 계획-이 좋은 소식을 전합시다.] The Christian servant must never forget that salvation is God's idea, not man's; therefore, it has an unfathomable depth. Salvation is the great thought of God, not an experience. Experience is simply the door through which salvation comes into the conscious level of our life so that we are aware of what has taken place on a much deeper level.

󰁨 [구원의 경험만을 이야기 하지 말고, 구원을 받고 도덕적이 되고 순수해질 수 있다는 주님에 대한 좋은 소식을 전하도록 합시다.] Never preach the experience-preach the great thought of God behind the experience. When we preach, we are not simply proclaiming how people can be saved from hell and be made moral and pure; we are conveying good news about God.

󰁨 [심판에 대해 이야기할 때, 각 사람들이 주님과 마주대하게 됩니다. 심판에 대해 알게 하는 것이 하나님의 사랑을 알게 하는 것입니다.] In the teachings of Jesus Christ the element of judgment is always brought out-it is the sign of the love of God. Never sympathize with someone who finds it difficult to get to God; God is not to blame. It is not for us to figure out the reason for the difficulty, but only to present the truth of God so that the Spirit of God will reveal what is wrong. The greatest test of the quality of our preaching is whether or not it brings everyone to judgment. When the truth is preached, the Spirit of God brings each person face to face with God Himself.

󰁨 [자신을 의지하려는 모든 요소가 없어지고 온전한 약함과 의지함이 있을 때 성령의 힘이 나타납니다] If Jesus ever commanded us to do something that He was unable to equip us to accomplish, He would be a liar. And if we make our own inability a stumbling block or an excuse not to be obedient, it means that we are telling God that there is something which He has not yet taken into account. Every element of our own self-reliance must be put to death by the power of God. The moment we recognize our complete weakness and our dependence upon Him will be the very moment that the Spirit of God will exhibit His power.

When I was a pastor, I served many women who were moms. I called on them in the hospital and rejoiced with them for their precious babies who had come into the world. I counseled with anxious mothers and tried to assure them that God was watching over their rebellious teenagers. I stood with mothers at the bedside of injured or ill children and felt their pain. And I cried with them in their grief when their son or daughter died.”

목사로 사역할 때 나는 많은 어머니들을 섬겼습니다. 병원으로 찾아가서 세상에 태어난 소중한 아기들을 보며 그들과 함께 기뻐했고, 반항하는 십대자녀들로 인해 불안해하는 어머니들을 상담하며, 하나님이 그들의 자녀들을 지켜보고 계신다는 것을 힘써 확신시키기도 했습니다. 부상을 당했거나 아픈 자녀들의 침상에 어머니들과 함께 서서 그 고통을 같이 느꼈으며, 그들의 아들이나 딸이 죽었을때 슬픔에 잠겨있는 그들과 함께 울었습니다.

Mary, the mother of Jesus, also experienced times of joy and sorrow. What joy she must have felt when the Christ-child was born! (Luke 2:7). What excitement when the shepherds and later the wise men came to worship Him (vv.8-20; Matt. 2:1-12). What uneasiness when Simeon prophesied that a sword would pierce her soul (Luke 2:35). And what heart-wrenching grief as Mary watched her Son dying on the cross! (John 19:25-30). 예수님의 어머니 마리아도 기쁨과 슬픔의 시간을

경험했습니다. 아기 그리스도가 태어났을 때 그녀는 얼마나 기뻤을까요(누가복음 2:7). 목자들이 경배하고 또 나중에 동방박사들이 경배 드리러 왔을 때 얼마나 흥분했을까요(8-20절; 마태복음 2:1-12). 검이 마리아의 마음을 찌를 것이라고 시므온이 예언했을 때 얼마나 불안했을까요(누가복음 2:35). 그리고 자신의 아들이 십자가에서 죽는 모습을 보면서 얼마나 마음이 찢어졌을까요(요한복음 19:25-30).

And what heart-wrenching grief as Mary watched her Son dying on the cross! (John 19:25-30). But her seasons of being a mother didn’t end with that terrible scene. She rejoiced that He rose from the grave.

그러나 그 끔직한 장면이 어머니로서 그녀의 마지막 장면은 아니었습니다. 무덤에서 예수님이 부활하셨을 때

그녀는 아주 기뻐했습니다.

Mothers, and all of us for that matter, experience many great joys and intense sorrows. But when we submit our lives to the Lord, every season of life can serve His eternal purposes.

어머니들, 그리고 어쩌면 우리 모두는 큰 기쁨과

깊은 슬픔을 많이 경험합니다. 그러나 우리의 인생을 주님께 드릴 때, 우리 인생의 각 계절들은 주님의

영원한 목적을 이루게 될 것입니다.

Thank You, Lord, for motherhood

With all its vale of tears,

For happy moments never dimmed

Through all the many years.

주님, 행복한 순간들은

오랜 시간이 지나도 결코 희미해지지 않기에

모든 눈물의 골짜기를 지나더라도

어머니임을 감사드립니다

Being a mom is a sacred partnership with God.

어머니가 된다는 것은 하나님과

거룩한 파트너십을 갖는 것이다.
