President Lee Jae-myung is on a state visit to Singapore from March 1 to 3, 2026, marking the first stop on his first ASEAN tour since taking office. Upon arriving at Changi International Airport on the 1st, he held a dinner meeting with Korean residents, emphasizing his commitment to strengthening support for overseas Koreans and bridging bilateral cooperation. On the 2nd, he will hold a summit and social luncheon with Prime Minister Lawrence Wong, a meeting and state dinner with President Tharman Shanmugaratnam, and attend the AI Connect Summit. His main focus will be expanding cooperation in AI and artificial intelligence, nuclear power (SMR), trade and investment, and advanced infrastructure. This will serve as an opportunity to substantially strengthen the strategic partnership, which was elevated to a higher level last year on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations. He is scheduled to travel to the Philippines on the 3rd and 4th.
