하나님 안에서 꿈을 꾸는 자
(6/14/26 본문:창 41:38-43)
꿈의 사람 요셉은 야곱의 열 한번째 아들로, 어린 소년기부터 꿈을 꾸기 시작하였습니다. 야곱이 사랑한 부인 라헬의 몸에서 태어난 요셉은 아버지의 편애와 꿈으로 인해 형제들에게 미움을 받게 되고 종래에는 애굽으로 팔려갔습니다(창 37:36). 요셉은 애굽의 시위대장 보디발의 집안일을 돌보는 중 보디발의 아내의 유혹을 뿌리친 일로 감옥에 갇히게 되었으나, 하나님이 동행하시고 일마다 형통케 하심으로 애굽의 총리가 되었습니다(창 41:43).
하나님께서 요셉을 통해, 바로 왕의 꿈에 나타난 7년의 풍년 뒤의 끔찍한 7년의 흉년으로 인해 멸망하게 될 이집트와 주변국을 살리고, 야곱의 가족들이 아사되지 않도록 꿈을 통해 섭리하셨습니다. 하나님과 아브라함과의 언약이 이루어질 하나님의 때가 되었고, 하나님의 뜻을 이루시기 위해 요셉을 하나님 안에서 꿈을 꾸는 자로 삼으시고 섭리하신 것입니다(창 47:27).
이스라엘의 멸망 후 다니엘도 바벨론 왕 느브갓네살과 그 아들 벨사살의 꿈을 해석하므로 높은 지위에 올라 바벨론 도의 일을 치리하며 살았습니다. 다니엘은 하나님 안에서 자기에게 내린 이상을 보았고 꿈도 꾸고 환상을 보았습니다. 또 마지막 때에 일어날 일들을 예언하였고, 종래에는 주님께서 만왕의 왕으로 임하셔서 통치하실 것을 계시하셨습니다(단 12:13).
성경은 요엘서를 통해, 마지막 때에 “하나님께서 내 신을 만민에게 부어주시므로 자녀들이 장래 일을 말하며, 노인들이 꿈을 꾸며, 젊은이는 이상을 볼 것이라고” 말씀하셨습니다(욜 2:28), 종말의 세대에 사는 우리는 이 선지서의 말씀을 통해 보이신 하나님의 섭리를 알고, 예언하며 꿈꾸며 이상을 보게 하여 주실 것을 믿고 하나님 안에서 꿈을 꾸어야 합니다(행 2:17).
말세지말에 살고 있는 우리 성도들은 우리들을 향하신 하나님의 뜻을 바로 알고, 성령님의 역사로 말미암아 우리에게 임하는 은사들을 활용하는 슬기로움을 가져야 합니다. 하나님의 역사를 이루기 위해 섭리하시는 하나님의 일들을 바르게 알고, 순종하며 선을 행하며 덕을 끼치는 삶을 살아가야 합니다.
무엇보다 중요한 것은 하나님께서 하나님의 말씀을 선포하시고 보내시고 이루시고 계신다는 것을 아는 것입니다(사 55:10-11). 하나님의 계획을 알리시고 이루시는 섭리 속에 우리를 택하시고 협력하여 선을 이루도록 하십니다. 우리 성도들은 예수 그리스도를 아는 지식 안에서 자라나야 합니다(벧후 3:18). 주님의 분부하심을 지키기 위해 순종의 삶을 살아야 합니다.
“묵시가 없으면 백성이 방자히 행하거니와 율법을 지키는 자는 복이 있느니라(잠 29:18)"는 말씀은 개역성경의 말씀입니다. 흠정역(KJV)에는 ”비전(꿈)이 없는 민족은 망한다(Where there is no vision, the people perish)”는 말씀이 서두에 기록되어 있습니다. 이 말씀들은 주님의 말씀을 지키며 꿈을 꾸라는 말씀인 것입니다.
우리를 양육하시며 말씀의 빛으로 바른 길로 인도하시는 하나님의 뜻과 이상을 바라보며, 말씀 안에서 꿈을 꾸는 것은 지극히 정상적인 신앙의 길입니다(시 119:105). 우리에게 후하게 주시며 꾸짖지 않으시는 하나님의 사랑과 섭리를 감사하며 주님 안에서 꿈을 꾸며 소망하는 자녀들의 삶이 되어야 합니다(시 107:8-9).
세상에서도 좋은 이상과 목표를 설정하고 꿈꾸며 나아가는 삶은 건설적이며 미래지향적인 모습입니다. 그러나 성경은 땅에 있는 우리 육신의 장막집이 무너지면 아무것도 남는 것이 없다고 경고하시므로, 성도들은 손으로 지은 집이 아닌 하나님께서 지으신 하늘의 집을 간절히 사모하며 나아가야 합니다(고후 5:1-2).
우리가 꿈꾸는 영생의 복은 하나님의 언약의 말씀을 믿고 계명을 지키며, 소망의 꿈을 갖고 나아갈 때 영생의 하늘문이 열리는 것입니다(계 22:7). 그러므로 우리는 그리스도의 언약의 말씀이 내 안에 이루어지길 꿈꾸며, 온 세계 만물을 창조하시고 통치하시는 말씀의 하나님이신 우리 주 예수 그리스도를 내 안에 모시고, 장래를 향한 소망의 꿈을 꾸며 인내하며 앞으로 나아가시기 바랍니다(롬 8:24-25).

Those who dream in God
(6/14/26 Text: Genesis 41:38-43)
Joseph, the man of dreams, was Jacob's eleventh son and began to dream from his early boyhood. Born to Rachel, the wife Jacob loved, Joseph was hated by his brothers due to his father's favoritism and his dreams, and was eventually sold into slavery in Egypt (Genesis 37:36). While serving in the household of Potiphar, the captain of the guard in Egypt, Joseph was imprisoned for resisting the temptation of Potiphar's wife; however, as God was with him and made everything prosperous, he became the Prime Minister of Egypt (Genesis 41:43).
God providentially intervened through Joseph to save Egypt and the surrounding nations from destruction caused by the terrible seven years of famine following the seven years of abundance that appeared in Pharaoh's dream, and to prevent Jacob's family from starving to death. The time had come for God's covenant with Abraham to be fulfilled, and to accomplish His will, He providentially appointed Joseph as a dreamer within Him (Genesis 47:27).
After the destruction of Israel, Daniel also rose to a high position by interpreting the dreams of Nebuchadnezzar, the king of Babylon, and his son Belshazzar, and lived while governing the affairs of the city of Babylon. Daniel saw the visions given to him in God, and he also dreamed dreams and saw visions. He also prophesied the events that would take place in the last days, and ultimately revealed that the Lord would come as the King of Kings and reign (Dan 12:13).
Through the Book of Joel, the Bible states that in the last days, “God will pour out His Spirit on all people, so that the sons and daughters will prophesy, the old men will dream dreams, and the young men will see visions” (Joel 2:28). Living in the end times, we must recognize God’s providence revealed through the words of this prophetic book, believe that He will enable us to prophesy, dream dreams, and see visions, and dream within God (Acts 2:17).
We saints living in the last days must correctly understand God’s will toward us and possess the wisdom to utilize the gifts that come to us through the work of the Holy Spirit. We must correctly understand God’s providential work to accomplish His work, and live a life of obedience, doing good, and spreading virtue.
Above all, it is important to know that God is proclaiming, sending, and fulfilling His word (Isaiah 55:10-11). In His providence of making known and fulfilling His plan, He chooses us and enables us to cooperate with Him to accomplish good. We believers must grow in the knowledge of Jesus Christ (2 Peter 3:18). We must live a life of obedience to keep the Lord's commandments.
The verse, “Where there is no vision, the people act recklessly; but he who keeps the law is blessed” (Proverbs 29:18), is from the Korean Revised Version. In the King James Version (KJV), the verse “Where there is no vision, the people perish” is recorded at the beginning. These verses are a message to keep the Lord’s word and dream.
Looking toward God's will and vision, who nurtures us and guides us on the right path with the light of His Word, and dreaming within the Word is a perfectly normal path of faith (Psalm 119:105). We must live as children who dream and hope in the Lord, giving thanks for God's love and providence, who gives generously and does not rebuke us (Psalm 107:8-9).
Even in this world, a life of setting good ideals and goals, dreaming, and moving forward is constructive and future-oriented. However, since the Bible warns that if our earthly tent is destroyed, nothing will remain, believers must earnestly long for and move forward toward the heavenly house built by God, rather than a house made by human hands (2 Corinthians 5:1-2).
The blessing of eternal life that we dream of is that the gates of heaven for eternal life open when we believe in God’s covenant word, keep His commandments, and move forward with a dream of hope (Rev. 22:7). Therefore, I hope you will dream that the word of Christ’s covenant will be fulfilled within you, receive our Lord Jesus Christ—the God of the Word who created and rules over all things in the world—into yourselves, and move forward with patience while dreaming of hope for the future (Romans 8:24-25).
