Make sure you take your time and click all the links and read everything or as much as you can so you can see all of the excitement that we have in store for you.This event is New York’s PREMIER Latin Dance event held for 3 days & 4 nights(this year August 30 - September 2, 2007), every Labor Day Weekend, which was rightfully declared the Official New York Salsa Congress Weekend by Mayor Bloomberg in 2005.
For one weekend only in New York from morning to early morning, you’ll have the opportunity to choose from over 45 workshops from beginner to advanced levels in different styles of Latin dance, being taught by a list of the most sought after Instructors both nationally and internationally renowned. Over 80 spectacular dance showcases comprised of the hottest local and international dance groups from around the world. Matinee shows starting 6pm on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, which includes our Special “New York’s Got Salsa” Youth Showcase. We cap off each night with a Live Concert Series with some of the most sought after & respected bands in the Latin community, plus DJs playing the Hottest Salsa and Cha-Chas around so you can dance the rest of the night away.
All of this and more, right smack in the heart of New York City, across the street from Radio City Music Hall, around the corner from Carnegie Hall and just walking distance from Times Square, under one roof, at the prestigious NY Hilton Hotel (1335 Avenue Of the Americas (53rd Street). This year marks the new beginning as the New York Salsa Congress is under new guidance. Team NYSC’s mission is to take this event to the next level and compliment the MECCA OF SALSA, which is New York City, with a Grand Mecca event. As we move forward and continue the tradition, we are excited for you to see what’s to come. Believe us you are not going to want to miss any of this. The 7th Annual New York Salsa Congress is New York’s Premier Latin Music and Dance Convention that brings you total immersion for 3 days & 4 nights of non-stop excitement every Labor Day Weekend, which was proclaimed the “official” weekend of the New York Salsa Congress in 2005 by Mayor Bloomberg.This high energy dance and music event will be held at the Hilton Hotel, 1335 Avenue of the Americas, (53rd Street) in Midtown Manhattan on Labor Day Weekend, August 31-September 2, 2007. The New York Salsa Congress is a multi-day (3 days & 4 nights) celebration of Latin dance, music and culture much like any conference or convention with the overall focus to unite, develop and educate Salsa dancers and Latin music enthusiasts. It is composed of several main elements including:
·World renowned and local dance instructors teaching workshops during the days and afternoons
·World renowned and local dance teams or couples presenting their high quality performances during the evenings
·Live Concert Series, after the dance showcase, featuring social dancing to live bands and DJs every night playing the best in Salsa, Cha-Cha-Cha, and Latin Jazz, usually held till 4 AM.
Basically the New York Salsa Congress is an 3 day 4 night extravaganza where you come socialize, have fun, learn, watch, and dance your ass off!!!
