유먼이 많이 섭섭한듯 한데 좀 문제의 소지가 있네요

김태균의 생각없는 발언으로 얼마전 인종차별 문제가 있었는데 이게 조치 없이 넘어가 유먼이 입장을 밝혔네요

우리팀에도 리즈도 있고 문제가 될 소지가 다분합니다

Lotte Giants pitcher Shane Youman says his team missed a chance to teach about racial sensitivity when it failed to address remarks made by an opposing player earlier this month.

우리 팀은 이번 일로 인종 문제의 민감함을 알릴 수 있었음에도 대응을 하지 않으며 지나쳤다.

“Lotte didn't discuss the incident with me until I said something,” said Youman, 33, in an email. “I was told they'd address (it), but even after that, nothing was said or done on my behalf.

내가 말하기 전까지 팀에서는 그 일을 나와 상의하지 않았다. 입장 표명은 했었다고 들었지만, 이 후론 나를 위한 아무런 대응도 하지 않았다.

“They could have done a lot more to raise awareness around the whole league, as well as for college, high school, and younger players.”

그들은 리그는 물론 아마 야구의 어린 선수들의 인식을 위해서라도 더 많은 대응을 보여줬어야 했다.

Youman also told The Korea Times that Kim had not directly apologized to him despite the two teams having met following the incident.

사건 후 양 팀의 경기가 있었음에도 김태균은 직접적인 사과를 하지 않았다.

Youman, who is in his second season with the Giants, said his initial reaction was to give Kim the benefit of the doubt because he “may have made a mistake, or even tried to be funny.”

처음에는 실수 였을수도 있고 웃기려고 했을수도 있으니 그에게 기회를 주려고 했다.

After taking time to think, the pitcher felt “this issue needed to be addressed, right, or wrong to help avoid something like this from happening again.”  

같은 일이 반복되지 않기 위해서라도 이 문제는 알려질 필요가 있다. 

“I don't know why Lotte didn't do much about the situation. Maybe they didn't think it was a big deal especially after Kim Tae-kyun blamed the reporter for what transpired,” he said.

나는 왜 우리 팀이 별 대응을 안하는지 모르겠다. 김태균이 기자의 탓으로 돌리자, 구단은 별 일 아니라고 생각한거 같다.

As for Kim, Youman said he should have apologized or made “some sort of gesture” when the teams met for a three-game series June 14 to 16 in Busan, where the Giants are based.

그는 롯데와의 경기가 있을 때 사과, 못해도 흉내라도 보였어야했다.

“He hasn't done anything in regards to that aside from calling Lotte officials to apologize, and transfer the blame to the reporter who did the interview. For that, I've lost major respect for Kim Tae-kyun.

그는 롯데 구단에 전화 사과 말고는 아무것도 하지 않았고, 인터뷰를 한 기자의 잘못으로만 돌렸다. 그 모습을 보며 나는 김태균에 대한 존중을 잃었다.

“A true professional, right or wrong, would at least apologize for being involved in something of that magnitude, but he passed on that.”

진정한 프로라면 그 정도의 일에 자신이 관련됐을땐 잘못이 있건 없건 최소한 사과는 해야한다. 하지만 그는 그냥 지나쳤다. 

“I still think about what transpired with that whole situation,”

난 지금도 그 모든 일에 대해 생각한다.

국내 유일한 15억선수라서 아무한테나 사과못하나 보죠... 본인실력에 비해 지연봉도 분명 차별인데...

유먼이 첨에는 유화적인 태도를 보였는데 그때 사과했으면 깔끔하고 잡음없게 끝났을것을 왜 일을 만드는지 모르겠네요.

유먼이 좋은맘 가지고 너그럽게 대해주니 안일하게 생각했겠죠. 깨알같이 까줘야 뭐가 잘못된건지 알고 사과하는 시늉이라도 했을텐데.
이상하게 대부분 사람들 보면 좋은사람한텐 대충하고 지랄맞고 까칠한 사람들한테 더 깍듯이 대하는 태도를 보이는 사람들이 많아요. 잘해주는 사람한테 더 잘해줘야지......

그러게말입니다. 그러니 사람들이 더 신경질적이 되는거 같습니다. 악순환이죠.
