한정사 other / another의 명사 수식 용법

Unlike [most of] [the other] [countries]
(D)는 그 자체가 틀리고, 빈칸 뒤에 복수 가산명사인
countries가 있으므로 그 앞에 (C)를 쓸 수 없다. 빈칸 앞에 most of가 있는데 이것은 ‘~ 중의 대부분’
이란 뜻이며 ‘부분 of 전체’ 구조에서 뒤의 전체는 특정한 범위를 가지는 전체가 되어야 하므로 (A)가
정답이다.

한정사와 형용사의 차이
an efficient system에서 efficient는 system을 꾸미는 형용사이다. efficient는 없어도 a system이
되어, 단수 가산명사 system이 가지는 규칙이 지켜지므로, 문장 속에 들어올 수 있다. 하지만, an이
없어지면, efficient system이 되므로 이 자체만 가지고는 문장 속에 들어올 수 없게 된다.
이렇게 한정사는 명사와 문법적인 결합을 한다. 그리고, an efficient systems 또는
an efficient equipment 같이 쓰거나 much systems와 many equipment 같이 쓰면 틀리듯이
가산명사와 불가산명사에 따라, 그리고 가산명사의 경우에도 단수냐 복수냐에 따라 결합할 수
있는 한정사가 분류된다. 이런 점에서 한정사와 형용사는 다르다.

nothing more can be done 동사 부분이 can be done형태로 수동태이므로 주어는 do라는 동사의
목적어가 될 수 있는 것이어야 한다. 그러므로 (B) (D)는 틀린다. 긍정문에서 (A)는 ‘어떤 것이라도’라는
양보의 개념을 나타내어 문맥이 맞지 않고, 이 문장은 부정적인 의미가 되어야 문맥이 맞으므로 (C)가
정답이다.
