이탈리안 레스토랑 '나무와벽돌'이 북촌에 새롭게 선보이는 분점으로 한옥과 현대건축, 인테리어 디자인 등을 총망라한 복합 프로젝트이다. 단순하고 모던한 양옥과 수공예적인 섬세함이 드러나는 한옥은 외부 마당을 통해 연결되며 긴 전면도로를 따라 강력한 가로 입면을 형성한다. 공통의 외관재료인 목재와 전벽돌은 그 사용 방식의 차이를 통해 전통과 현대를 표현한다. 베이커리 및 델리 샵으로 이용되는 1층의 내부는 밝고 경쾌하게, 정통 고급 레스토랑으로 이용되는 2?의 내부는 차분하고 우아하게 계획하였다.

Gahoeheon is a new restaurant that the Wood & Brick, one of the oldest Italian restaurants in Seoul, opened in Bukchon. The site is on a urban island block with a gentle slope; there is a 1M difference in level between the front street and the rear street. This allowed us to create several level changes within the building.
The most unique feature of Gahoeheon is that a Hanok and a modern restaurant building sit next to each other. The modern building of Gahoeheon is truly multifunctional; the kitchen occupies the whole basement, a bakery and a wine bar on the ground floor, and an haute-cuisine restaurant on the first floor. It was very import!ant to make this 'palace of culinary delights' look as a coherent whole, yet giving life to each space as its purpose demands.
