베리(berry)의 종류가 꽤 많다.
딸기와 같은 종류가 있고, 어떤 것은 뽕나무 오디(mulberry)와 비슷한 것, 어떤 것은 올리브 열매를 닮은 것도 있다.
모두 섬유질이 많고 암(癌)을 이기는 산화방지(fiber and cancer-fighting antioxidants)
성분이 많이 들어있는 건강에 좋은 열매들이다.
그러나 야생에서 만나면 어떤 것은 독성이 있는 것도 있으니 먹기전에 주의해야한다.

Aronia berry (아로니아/Chokeberry )
아로니아(aronia) 또는 초크베리(choke-berry, the choke-berries)는 아로니아 나무의 열매로 식용 또는 약용으로 사용하며 식용 색소의 원료로 쓰이기도 하고 관상용으로도 역시 재배된다.
'레드 초크베리', '블랙 초크베리', '퍼플 초크베리'의 3가지를 합쳐서 아로니아라고 한다. '킹스베리'(King's Berry)라는 별명도 가지고 있다. 북아메리카가 원산지이다.[백과사전]
Bilberry vs Blueberry
(빌베리 블루베리 비교)
Bilberries are smaller than Blueberries with a fuller, distinctive taste and the tree produces single paired fruit, not clusters. The pulp inside a Bilberry is a dark red or purple colour whereas a blueberry has a soft light shade of green. Bilberries are harder to grow, they require acidic, nutrient poor soil in subarctic regions. Bilberries are considered to be higher in antioxidants than Blueberries.

키가 5미터로 자라는 하이부쉬블루베리와 30텐티의 로부쉬블루베리로 나뉜다
Bilberry(빌베리)
학명:Vaccinium myrtillus
L. 나라별로 whortleberry, winberry, whinberry, blaeberry, European blueberry 로 부르는 나라도있다.
Gooseberries(구스베리)
학명:Ribes uva-crispa/유럽과 西아시아가 원산 구스베리는 한국의 까마귀밥(까치)나무랑 같은 속에 속한다. 그래서 많이 닮았다. 한국의 야생의 까마귀밥나무 열매는 먹을수가 없으나, 미국의 것은 원예종으로 개량하여 건강식으로 먹는다.

학명 : Rubus croceacanthus, 주로 구대륙과 신대륙의 북반구 온대지역이 원산지이다.
Cloudberry(클라우드베리)
한국의 야생 '멍석딸기'와 많이 닮았다. 학명：Rubus chamaemorus

Raspberry (라즈베리)
라즈베리(raspberry, 학명: Rubus idaeus.)는 산딸기속 식물의 먹을 수 있는 과일을 부르는 말이다.
원래는 레드라즈베리(Rubus idaeus) 한 종만을 부르는 말이었으며,지금도 유럽에서는 그 종을 라즈베리로 부른다. 우리나라 특산종인 복분자딸기(학명: Rubus coreanus)를 영문표기 할 때‘라즈베리’라고 쓰던데, 글쎄....별로 닮지는 않았다.

전세계적으로 뽕나무는 많이 분포되어있고 종류도 다양하다.
Cranberry(크랜베리)
넌출월귤(-越橘) 또는 크랜베리(Cranberry)는 진달래과의 종 가운데 하나 또는 그 열매이다.
북반구 다소 추운지방의 환경에서 잘 자란다. 학명적으로 약 4-5종이 있다

학명:Aristotelia chilensis /남미 칠를 중심으로 아르헨티나 남부에서 재배.
Aristotelia chilensis (Maqui or Chilean wineberry) is a species of the Elaeocarpaceae family native to the Valdivian temperate rainforests of Chile and adjacent regions of southern Argentina.
Maqui is sparsely cultivated. The main area of wild maqui can be found in the Chilean forests.

학명:Rubus × loganobaccus L.H. Bailey The loganberry (Rubus × loganobaccus) is

The plant and the fruit resemble the blackberry more than the raspberry, but the fruit
color is a dark red, rather than black as in blackberries.
Loganberries are cultivated commercially and by gardeners.

acai는 영어가 아닌 포르투갈어로서 원 발음은 "아사이" 가 맞다.
Elderberry(엘더베리)
Sambucus is a genus of flowering plants in the family Adoxaceae. The various species are commonly called elder or elderberry. The genus was formerly placed in the honeysuckle family, Caprifoliaceae, but was reclassified due to genetic and morphological comparisons to Adoxa. In Sambucus, there are between 5 and 30 species of deciduous shrubs, small trees and herbaceous perennial plants.
