밤마다 울던 저 버레는
오늘도 마루 밑에서 울고 있네
저녁에 빛나는 냇물같이
버레우는 소리는 차고도 쓸쓸하여라
밤마다 마루 밑에서 우는 버레소리에
내마음 한없이 이끌리나니...
The worms, crying every night
Do whine even tonight under the floor.
Like streamlet shining in the eve,
The cries resonate cool and lonesome.
On worms’ cries under the floor every night
My heart wanders endlessly in the air.

밤마다 울던 저 버레는
오늘도 처마 끝에서 울고 있네
저녁에 빛나는 강물같이
버레우는 소리는 서럽고 가슴 아파라
밤마다 처마 끝에서 우는 버레 소리에
내마음 끝없이 이끌리나니...
The worms, crying every night
Do whine even tonight, under the eaves.
Like the river, shining in the eve,
The cries are lugubrious, and heartaching,
On worms’ cries every night from the eaves
My heart wanders endlessly in the air.
