어디로 돌아가랴,
내의 신세는,
내 신세 가엾이도
물과 같아라
Poor Soul,
Where shall I return?
 My life’s like forlorn
Water.

험궂은 산 막지면
돌아서 가고
모지른 바위이면
넘쳐 흐르랴
Faced on steep mount’n
It goes around it;
On rough rock,
It flows over it.

그러나 그리해도
헤날 길 없어
가엾은 설움만은
가슴 눌러라
Spite of all strain
Yet to overcome,
O, ’tis lamenting sorrow
That tightens my bosom.

그 아마 그도 같이
야의 우적,
그같이 지향 없이
헤메임이라.
Perhaps as such,
Nocturnal rainfall
Without any destination,
Must drift around this night.
