예수께서 그곳에 이르사 우러러 보시고 이르시되 삭개오야 속히 내려오라 내가 오늘 네 집에 유하여야 하겠다 하시니 급히 내려와 즐거워하며 영접하거늘 뭇사람이 보고 수군거려 가로되 저가 죄인의 집에 유하러 들어갔도다 하더라 삭개오가 서서 주께 여짜오되 주여 보시옵소서 내 소유의 절반을 가난한 자들에게 주겠사오며 만일 뉘 것을 토색한 일이 있으면 사배나 갚겠나이다 예수께서 이르시되 오늘 구원이 이 집에 이르렀으니 이 사람도 아브라함의 자손임이로다 인자의 온 것은 잃어버린 자를 찾아 구원하려 함이니라

When Jesus reached the spot, he looked up and said to him, "Zacchaeus, come down immediately. I must stay at your house today."So he came down at once and welcomed him gladly.All the people saw this and began to mutter, "He has gone to be the guest of a 'sinner.' "But Zacchaeus stood up and said to the Lord, "Look, Lord! Here and now I give half of my possessions to the poor, and if I have cheated anybody out of anything, I will pay back four times the amount."Jesus said to him, "Today salvation has come to this house, because this man, too, is a son of Abraham.For the Son of Man came to seek and to save what was lost.“

영혼 구원은 세상에서 육체의 삶을 마쳤을 때 그 영혼이 부활의 몸을 입고 천국에 들어가는 것을 의미하는 것이다.회개를 통해 죄에서 영혼이 깨끗해지는 것이 영혼 구원을 받는 길이다. 주님께 합당한 회개는 죄를 깨닫고 입술로 회개할 뿐아니라, 우리의 마음으로 결단하고 그 죄를 떠나는 것을 말한다.같은 죄를 계속 지으면서 단지 입술로만 회개하고 그 죄를 떠나지 않는 것은 가짜 회개인 것이다.성령과 성경 말씀을 통해 우리의 마음이 새롭게 변화되어야 죄를 떠난다. 마음이 변화되지 않고는 근본적인 회개를 이룰 수 없는 것이다.

오랜 세월 동안 신앙생활 했을지라도 가치관이 세상 사람들과 똑같다면 그는 아직 하나님의 백성되 되지 못한 것이다, 천국에 갈 수 없는 종교인에 불과한 것이다.죄인 삭개오는 예수님을 만나고 그의 마음이 근본적으로 변화되었다. 그는 그의 잘못된 삶을 회개할 뿐 아니라 회개에 합당한 삶으로 돌아왔다, 합당한 회개의 열매를 맺은 것이다.그는 공개적으로 선포했다.그는 그의 재산의 절반을 가난한 자들에게 나눠 주기로 하였고, 그가 남에게 토색한 것은 그것의 4배로 갚기로 결정한 것이다.

그는 입술로 회개하고 그의 잘못된 삶을 고친 것이다, 그에게 근본적인 심령의 변화가 일어난 것이다. 그는 죄악의 삶을 버리고 생명의 길로 돌아온 것이다.삭개오의 마음이 새롭게 변화된 것을 보신 주님께서 그가 구원을 받았다고 말씀하신 것이다.오늘날에도 주님께로 마음을 근본적으로 돌이키는 자는 누구든지 삭개오 처럼 구원을 받게 되는 것이다.화목을 이루기 위해 남을 용서하고 악한 생각을 버리고, 선한 마음을 갖는 것이 마음의 변화이다.

그 당시에 많은 제사장들, 바리새인들 서기관들은 종교생활을 넘치도록 하였다. 그러나 그들의 마음이 근본적으로 변화되는 회개를 이루지 못했다,그들의 겉모습은 항상 의로웠다, 그러나 그들의 마음은 항상 음란과 탐심과 미움과 교만이 가득하였다, 그들은 이웃과 화목을 이룰 줄 몰랐고 항상 남을 탓하며 살았다, 회개 없는 삶을 살았기 때문에 다 구원받지 못했다. 그러나 모든 사람들에게 죄인으로 낙인찍혔던 삭개오는 참된 회개를 통해 구원을 받은 것이다.

남에게 사기친 자는 그 돈을 갚으면서 회개하라. 갚을 능력이 없을 때는 마음으로 깊이 사과하며 회개하라, 율법주의 신자들은 겉모습만 선하고 그들의 마음은 추악하다. 칼빈주의 자들은 참된 회개나 순종도 없이 무조건 구원받았다고 주장한다. 은사주의 자들은 순종과 회개도 없이 병고치고, 귀신 쫓아내고 무슨 능력만 나타내기를 원한다.주님이 우리에게 원하시는 것은 거룩한 겉모습이나 많은 능력을 행하는 것이 아니다.

우리의 악하고 교만한 마음을 부드럽고 선하게 변화시키고, 참된 믿음으로 하나님을 경배하는 것이다. 마음이 변화 될 때 선한 삶은 자동으로 우리를 따라오는 것이다. 무엇보다 우리는 주님의 말씀에 순종하기를 힘쓰야 하고, 성령이 우리의 죄를 지적하실 때 우리는 변명치 말고 회개해야 되는 것이다. 성령의 인도하심을 거부하는 자는 결코 성령 충만을 받지 못한다.성령충만을 받지 않는다면 아무도 세상 유혹들을 다 이길 수 없다.성령의 도움 없이는 죄를 피할 수 없고, 지은 죄를 회개할 수 없게 된다.

Salvation of the soul means that, upon completing one's physical life on earth, the soul will receive a resurrected body and enter heaven.The path to salvation is cleansing the soul from sin through repentance.Repentance worthy of the Lord means not only recognizing sin and repenting with our lips, but also making a firm resolve in our hearts to turn away from it.

Continuing to commit the same sin, yet only repenting with our lips and not turning away from it, is false repentance.Our hearts must be renewed through the Holy Spirit and the Word of God to turn away from sin. Without a change of heart, fundamental repentance is impossible.Even if one has been a believer for many years, if their values ​​are the same as those of the world, they have not yet become one of God's people. They are merely religious people who cannot enter heaven.

Zaccheus, a sinner, met Jesus and his heart was fundamentally transformed.He not only repented of his wrongdoings, but also returned to a life worthy of repentance, bearing the fruit of proper repentance.He publicly declared: He decided to give half of his wealth to the poor and repay four times what he had extorted from others.He repented with his lips and corrected his wrongdoings. A fundamental change of heart occurred in him.

He abandoned his life of sin and returned to the path of life.The Lord, seeing Zacchaeus's heart transformed, declared him saved.Even today, anyone who fundamentally turns their heart to the Lord will be saved, just like Zacchaeus.A change of heart is to forgive others, abandon evil thoughts, and cultivate a good heart in order to achieve reconciliation.At that time, many priests, Pharisees, and scribes were overflowing with religious life. However, they failed to achieve repentance, a fundamental change in their hearts.

They always appeared righteous, but their hearts were always filled with lust, greed, hatred, and pride.They did not know how to cultivate harmony with their neighbors and always blamed others. Because they lived without repentance, they were not saved.However, Zacchaeus, who was branded a sinner by everyone, received salvation through true repentance.

Those who have defrauded others should repent by paying back the debt.If you cannot repay, repent with a deep apology from the heart.Legalists only appear good on the outside, but their hearts are evil.Calvinists claim unconditional salvation without true repentance or obedience.Charismatics want only to heal the sick, cast out demons, and demonstrate miracles without obedience or repentance.

The Lord does not want us to have a holy appearance or perform many miracles. It is about transforming our evil and proud hearts into gentle and good ones, and worshipping God with true faith. When our hearts are transformed, a good life will automatically follow us. Above all, we must strive to obey the Lord's word, and when the Holy Spirit points out our sins, we must repent without making excuses.

Those who reject the guidance of the Holy Spirit will never be filled with the Holy Spirit.No one can overcome the temptations of the world without being filled with the Holy Spirit.Without the help of the Holy Spirit, we cannot avoid sin, nor can we repent of our sins.
